Anne Mitchell is eighteen years old. She is suddenly being chased on horseback by a mysterious woman, dressed in black. She escapes to her home. Anne is in love with David, but her father wants her to marry Robert. It is now twenty-five years later, Anne is an alcoholic and her husband has spent her families fortune. It is now her that is chasing her younger self to warn her to marry the right man. But the wrong man is David and not Robert.
