A Confederate spy is to be hanged, but as the hatch door opens the rope breaks and drops him in a creek. He looks around confused and then begins his escape. Bullets whiz by him as he continues to run from the soldiers. He comes upon a plantation, complete with his home and wife. He walks up to his wife and pushes her on a swing. Episode Notes
This virtually silent episode was a French film that had won first prize for short subjects at the 1962 Cannes Film Festival, and which was trimmed by several minutes for The Twilight Zone. It went on to win an Academy Award.
This classic short film was the only episode not produced by Cayuga Productions.
