| Bernard Herrmann's opening theme would be replaced with Marius Constant's guitar-and-bongo riff and the opening sequence was replaced as Rod Serling finally stood in front of the camera for his opening narration. A new network executive, James Aubrey, would prove to be a problem for the series mainly because of it's higher price tag to produce. Considered to be way over budget, 7 fewer episodes were produced and six would be filmed on videotape. The look of the show on tape was disappointing and the idea was scrapped.
Emmys were won by Serling, for dramatic writing and for George T. Clemens for director of photography, and the series won a Hugo for the second year in a roll for best dramatic presentation. It also earned the Unity Award for "Outstanding Contributions to Better Race Relations" and an Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Program Achievement in the Field of Drama." | |
