Recap

A young boy, Georgie, is at home and his mother is off to the hospital to check on his brother Buddy, who is in the hospital with a broken leg. His mother tells him to call her if Gramma wakes up but Georgie assures her he’ll be fine and he’s not scared of her any more. However, once she’s gone he worries about being there. He picks up the phone number and listens in on the party line for a few minutes as a neighbor woman, Miss Dunn, gossips. Georgie then goes to the kitchen table and starts working on his homework...
