Due to an evident unpopularity, the series was cancelled in the middle of its second season. A third season was nevertheless commissioned to pad the series out so CBS could fulfil its obligation for the syndication rights it prematurely sold. This came with a new production team with filming now taking place in Canada, the latter done as money-saving measure. This is the reason why Charles Aidman was replaced by Canadian actor Robin Ward in its last season.
