Dr. Jay Ferguson saves his first life, and is then assigned to a case in which a mysterious man claims that he is Death, the Grim Reaper of all living things. Now the world is filled with literally millions of suffering people who should be dead, but can't seem to die. Jay now races to find Death and undo what's been done, realizing that even death is a normal and necessary part of life...
