Time Lapse - Recap

At a hospital in Phoenix, orderly Zack Walker is talking to his girlfriend Maria about her brother's upcoming bachelor party and their engagement. They wheel in Tom Fisk, an unconscious man with a bullet wound to the head. A Secret Service agent comes in and tells Maria that she should notify the guard when Fisk recovers consciousness. Zack leaves and has a sudden fit of dizziness outside. He opens his eyes... and discovers himself a cheap hotel room two days later. He finds car keys on the desk and a newspaper showing he's in Portland. Looking outside, Zack confirms he's in Portland at night. On the bed is a duffle bag with a cell phone and a plastic gun designed to get through metal detectors.

Zack goes down to the front desk and the clerk says she checked him in. He calls Maria who thinks he's making up a story because he's having second thoughts about being married. Zack dumps the gun in a garbage can and finds the expensive car that the keys belong to. Suddenly he blanks out again and finds himself driving down a country road in broad daylight. Zack manages to pull the car over before he hits someone but discovers the gun is in the backseat. He throws it into the woods and then sees a sign saying he's near Seattle.

Zack blacks out again and finds himself in a Chinese restaurant being searched. An Asian crime lord and his daughter are seated at a table and wonder if there's any problem. The thugs take money from him and give it to the woman, and she says it's the agreed upon $5,000. The assistant translates for her father, addresses him as Mr. Walker, and says that he wants to make sure Zack is satisfied with the merchandise. Zack tries to bluff his way through and the woman, Mei Ling, hands him a case. Inside is a different plastic gun. Zack warily takes the gun and leaves. As he walks down the street, he confirms that he's in Seattle. He uses his ATM card but discovers he has no funds available. A police car pulls up behind him and the officers ask if everything is okay. Zack spots his car nearby and walks to it. Once the officers leave, Zack puts the gun in the glove compartment and begs to go home.

Zack blacks out and finds himself in an expensive hotel room taking a shower. On the wall is an elaborate schematic of a building, security patrols, and an article on the President's daughter Michelle paying a visit. The gun is on the desk and the newscaster is talking about the daughter's visit. Zack looks up at a mirror and sees the words "Don't fight this" written on it.

Zack calls Maria as she checks on her patient, Fisk. He asks if he's ever mentioned anything about the President's daughter, and Maria thinks he's having an affair with her. Zack admits it sounds crazy, but he thinks he's planning on killing her. When he says he's bought another gun and plotted out the killing, Maria insists he isn't a killer. She suggests he turn himself into the Secret Service.

In the hotel ballroom, Zack meets with Carl Taggart of the Secret Service and tries to explain what he's been experiencing and how he somehow becomes another person who wants to kill Michelle. Taggart is skeptical but sends his men up to check Zack's room. He then wonders why Zack wants to kill Michelle but Zack insists it's his other self that wants to kill her. Taggart gets confirmation from the agents and orders him to stand up and place his hands on the table. Zack blacks out for a moment and discovers he's attacked and stunned Taggart.

Zack blacks out again and finds himself in a hotel hallway, armed with a gun. "12:45" is written on his hand. It's almost 12:45. He blacks out again and again, each time getting closer to Michelle as the crowd cheers. Zack sees her coming up the escalator, takes out the gun, and shoots… a man in a bellhop uniform. Taggart is there and Zack says that he's Tom Fisk, and they've worked together for three years. Taggart says that Fisk is in a hospital in Phoenix, but Zack/Tom says that he got the man who put him into the coma.

Tom Fisk wakes up in Phoenix... and inside his body, Zack looks up at Maria and says her name. He realizes that he's in Fisk's body and starts to panic.
