The Deuces, a gang is watching a rival tagger painting over their sign. They tell their “Picasso,” Marcus to take care of it and give him a gun. Marcus confronts the tagger who tells him the wall deserves a little better. Angry the man is painting over his tag, Marcus still hesitates but draw the guns when he realizes his fellow gangers are watching him. The tagger continues and warns that if Marcus puts his talent with the gangers, he’ll eventually die. The tagger reaches for the gun and Marcus accidentally shoots him. The gang drives back to their garage HQ and congratulate Marcus on his first time. He goes back to the site of the shooting and sees that the tag has changed: the tagger’s dead body is part of the painting.

The next day, Marcus goes back and paints over the picture of the tagger’s corpse. He runs away but the police pick him up. However, a local man and gang counselor, Rosas, intervenes, and convinces them to leave Marcus alone. Rosas and Marcus know each other, and Rosas warns that the police are on edge after the tagger, Henry Santos, was murdered. Rosas tries to get Marcus to leave the gang but Marcus refuses. He goes home and takes a shower while reliving the shooting. His girlfriend Shauna notices that he went back to the shooting site and tells him he’s going to have to live with what’s happened since he can’t change it.

Later the Deuces get together and congratulate Marcus. He gets the gang tattoo and goes back to his apartment but keeps remembering the image of Santos. Rosas comes and takes Marcus to see something. On the way he shows him a magazine on urban artists featuring Santos, an up-and-coming artist. The Deuces see Marcus with Rosas and get concerned. Rosas drives to the alleyway where the painting of Santos is back… and now a silhouette is standing over him with a gun and a Deuces tattoo. Marcus paints it over again that night and then sits down. He dozes off for a couple of minutes and wakes up to see that the image has come back through the white paint… and the silhouette now has everything but a face.

Marcus goes back to his apartment and Shauna warns him that the gang thinks he’s going to snitch to the cops. Her cousin, String, runs the gang. Marcus hits the streets and Rosas finds him again and asks if he’s tired of running. He then notes that there were powder burns on Santos’ right arm, indicating the gun went off by accident. Rosas knows that Marcus shot Santos because of the wall painting but Marcus says he’s not afraid of nothing. Rosas warns that now the gang owns Marcus and they’ll keep him down because he has potential and they don’t. Marcus asks Rosas how he got out and Rosas admits he learned not to look over his shoulder any more.

Sting catches up to Marcus and warns him to stay away from Rosas. Marcus says he’s good but the Deuces don’t believe him. Shauna comes in and tells the gang that Marcus will fix the wall. She figures they’ve seen it and they go to the wall where now Marcus’ face is on the figure shooting Santos. The gang figure Marcus is taking credit for the kill and admire him for it. Marcus insists that he has to fix it, and tells Shauna to leave him alone. He takes a sledgehammer to the wall and smashes away the image. He dozes off until the next morning. The image is still gone from the wall… but now it’s on Marcus’ chest. He runs off to find Rosas, confesses, and shows him chest… where there’s nothing there. However, he stands behind his confession and admits that he didn’t mean to do it. Rosas acknowledges he’s not a killer and Marcus says he’s good now as the police take him away.
