<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
A helicopter takes Dr. Paul Thorson to Alaska. Thorson, remembers how Admiral Munro sent him to investigate Project Gemini, a secret research project that they lost contact with. The commander tells Thorson to get Gemini back on track.

The helicopter lands and Thorson enters the base. He finds one of the staff, Corporal Gordon, firing at a door. Thorson cautiously approaches him and offers his credentials. Gordon explains that “he” is in the chamber and is planning to activate Gemini, and if he does they’re all dead. Thorson insists that Gemini isn’t a bomb but Gordon says that Chandler is behind it all. Thorson notes that there is no Chandler on the staff. Gordon says that Chandler thought up Gemini and went nuts. He says that Chandler forced most of the other twelve research team members out into the snow. Thorson has the combination and tries to open the door, but discovers someone has changed the sequence. Gordon thinks Thorson is there to activate Gemini and threatens him with an ax. Thorson point out he’s the only one who can shut Gemini down and Gordon calms down.

Gordon says Skyles and Morgan are still there. Thorson goes looking for them and finds Dr. Morgan sketching on a board. She says Gemini won’t exist until she finishes her work, and admires the formula she’s writing. However, she says that something is wrong and Thorson helps her balance the equation. However, he realizes the formula could unleash a massive uncontrollable burst of energy. He asks her about Chandler, but Morgan simply repeats that Gemini isn’t finished until she says it is. She starts having an imaginary conversation with Dr. Chandler, and Thorson asks for the combination to the lab. She tells Thorson to get it from Skyles in the communication room.

Thorson goes to the communication room and finds Skyles playing a video game. Skyles offers him a gun and says he figures Thorson is there to kill him. He figures everyone will hold him responsible for the deaths and tells Thorson to get the combination from Chandler. Thorson insists that Chandler is a delusion but Skyles says he’s real. He notes that all the comm gear doesn’t work, but a call comes in on Thorson’s cell phone. Dr. Chandler says that he’s ready to talk to Thorson about the end of the world, and says he needs to leave. Thorson goes out in the hallway and hears Chandler talking to him. He figures that Chandler is on the loudspeakers but Chandler says that the scientists went insane from the ramifications of their own work.

Thorson goes back to the vault door and tries to find the source of the voice. He takes the ax from Gordon and tries to break down the door without success. Gordon warns him that if they don’t get inside, there won’t be a world. Thorson goes back to get Morgan and Skyles as Chandler warns him that there’s nothing he can do. Thorson destroy Skyles’ video game and they go to the secure room. Thorson insists that he can find a solution to any problem and tells the others that they need to work together. Chandler points out they’re insane and Thorson realizes that Chandler is telling them all something different. Thorson thinks that the door seal may be a delusion as well. When he tries to open it, Gordon attacks him and they struggle for the gun. Thorson ends up accidentally shooting Gordon, who disappears in a blur.

Thorson begins to wonder if the others are real. He shoots Morgan and Skyles and they disappear, and the vault door opens by itself. Thorson goes inside and finds Chandler, who says that Thorson created Gemini. Thorson couldn’t handle what Gemini could do and his mind shattered.”Chandler” explains that Morgan, Skyles, and Gordon were all manifestations of parts of his personality. Thorson insists he didn’t intend for Gemini to become a weapon, and “Chandler” says they can protect the universe by making sure Thorson never finishes Gemini. Thorson balks and Chandler insists that he shoot himself. Thorson shoots Chandler, who collapse and transforms into Thorson himself. Thorson kneels down, sobbing.

Later, a team of soldiers enter the base and the Team Commander reports to Munro that Thorson killed everyone and then shot himself. Every computer has been wiped. Munro orders them to bring all the information back and they’ll find someone else to put Gemini back on track.
