At a quiet suburban home, a young girl, Danielle Randall, is playing with her dollhouse while her parents Ellen and Pete prepare to go out. They’re waiting for their babysitter, Miranda Evans, to arrive. When she arrives, Ellen calls Danielle down to meet the new babysitter. As Ellen shows Miranda around, Miranda confirms that she hopes to make child development her career. Ellen assures Miranda that Danielle will be no problem and takes out a large notebook with all of the information they have on Danielle concerning phobias and allergies...

Host: (opening narration) Miranda Evens has a bond with children. She understands their problems, their fears. But tonight she will meet a special little girl with a very unique problem that will stretch Miranda's bond with reality itself.

Cultural References
Danielle: She wanted Buffy and Spike to hook up.

Buffy Sanders is the main character in the movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992), and the TV spinoff (1997-2003). Spike is a vampire turned good on the show, who eventually becomes romantically involved with Buffy.

Miranda: Shelley's a doll, not Sydney Bristow.

Sydney is the action-adventure heroine in the TV spy series Alias (2001-2006).
