Negative Energy - Recap

Team USA does their session. Jason Pierce reveals he has a staph infection on his leg. Team UK does their training session. Dave Faulker complains that he can't fight with a mouthpiece. We shift back to Team USA playing frisbee to do cardio.

Pierce says that he hasn't trained with the medication he may not fight. The guys try to put on a positive face but behind closed doors, the guys admit Pierce's defeated attitude is getting on their hands. Frank Lester says he wants to punch Pierce in the face. Santino Defranco says Pierce eats anything he cooks but still doesn't respond to his teammates.

The next fight is made it's Jason Dent vs. Jeff Lawson. As with his fighters, Bisping says this will be a quick fight.

With the fight made the attention shifts from Pierce to Dent. The guys don't know what to make of Dent. Dan calls him a good technical fighter. He also says Dent is resistant to change and doesn't always push himself to get better. Dan says it irritates him that sometimes he only likes to do things his way. We shift Jeff Lawson horsing in the house. He and his mates decides to put
on a wrestling match ending in everyone being in the pool.

Lawson and Bisping talk about the fight. Jeff thinks that Jason's lack of focus and craziness will benefit him. Jeff feels that he doesn't look a fighter thus making people underestimate him, so he can win his fights.

On the Jason side of things, Frank Lester feels that Jeff won't be able to beat him. Dana White comments on the Jason Pierce situation. He elects to talk with Pierce to find what's up. White says that from his whole demeanor that Pierce unhealthy or not doesn't want to fight. Dan agrees and says Pierce could have sold himself better to Dana.

Fight day arrives and Tale of The Tape is shown. Both fighters are evenly match in almost every category.

In Round 1, both fighters come out striking. At three minute mark, Jeff tries to grapple with Jason, but Jason ends up taking him down. The two jockey for position. Jeff ends up on top of Jason and goes for a submission.

He turns himself around and now has Jason at guard. Jeff lands several hard rights and lefts to Jason's face and body.

Jason hangs in there but at the two minute Jeff picks up Jason and gives him a hard slam. With one minute left, Jeff continues to dominate Jason. Once again having him at guard, Jeff is able to wail away at Jason at will. Lawson is unable to put away Dent as time expires.

In Round 2, Dent comes out striking on Jeff. Dent actually gets an advantage. He is able to get Lawson in a guillotine choke in the first minute alone. It appears that Lawson is tired to fight back. In third minute, Lawson goes after Dent, but Dent is able to thwart his advance. Lawson catches himself down on the mat with Dent on top. He tries an ankle submission but can't tap out Dent.

On the second minute, Lawson lands a hard knee lift to Dent's face but Dent hangs on. Lawson then falls to the mat apparently gassed out. Dent takes advantages and tries a guillotine choke for the win.

White says Lawson gassed and Dent didn't go after it. However, anyone who watches this fight will see that Dent did go after and after an abysmal first round came back with a strong second for the win.
