Clips from the fight with Forrest and Alex are shown. People are impressed with Alex’s effort to inflict damage. Forrest is as well particularly because the cut below his eye might put him out of the show. Forrest visits the eye doctor who stitches him up. Forrest condition is day to day but Dana tells him to consider choosing a replacement.
The fights are now in the semi-finals. Dana now says that teammate will fight teammate much to both team’s disgust. Dana’s reasoning is to put the fighters into a fighter mindset where there are no teammates or friends. He says Josh Koscheck will fight Diego Sanchez while Kenny Florian will fight Chris Leben. We get to know more about Kenny and Chris’s background. Nathan talks about Chris not having a father. Chris got over it because his mom let him do whatever he wanted. Kenny says he’s always been a competitive person since he was a kid. Despite the loss that Leben took, Dana says it will be a good fight.
In Round 1 of the semi-finals of the Middleweights both fighters come out swinging. They throw all caution to the wind going for the heavy hits. Nearly a minute is spent with them jockeying for position. After a while of this continuous swinging, it appears that Leben is ahead on points. He pushes Kenny onto the cage for added pressure. Leben continues the assault for last minute putting the pressure on Kenny. Florian puts up a fight near the end but the round seems won by Chris.
In Round 2 the fighters are cautious to strike a blow unlike the first round. The two now pick their spots. The action is too close to predict a winner. However, Leben is busted open near the eye at 1:49 mark. Sadly, the doctor decides that Leben can’t continue. It’s a controversial win for Florian as Forrest Griffin was also bleeding around the eye but he was allowed to finish.
