Passing Guard - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
A recap of last week’s episode is show. Team Mojo is gleaming as Team No Love has now lost two fights in a row. Shonie Carter decides to have fun in the house by painting everything he can find. He then decides to paint himself. The guys in the house a bit agitated over Shonie’s antics decide to play a joke. They take his picture and Rich Clementi does an exact copy with plenty of unflattering things to say. Shonie comes in and sees this and is upset. The guys eventually reveal it’s a joke but Shonie isn’t laughing. Dana White then starts talking about how they decided to let the guys watch the UFC fight with Matt Hughes and Royce Gracie. He then says how Mark Laymond being brought in to train the guys. Matt Serra then begins talking about how he doesn’t like him because he doesn’t fighters and talks about them. Laymond has never fought so Serra thinks he shouldn’t be able to insult any fighter.

Team Mojo eventually decides who will fight . Dana White thinks it will be Jeremy Jackson who was recently brought in a few days ago and has had relatively no training. The selection by Mojo is Pete Spratt vs. Chris Lytle.

Dana White then goes into the history of both fighters and both fighters share highs and lows in the UFC. Chris Lytle has a record of 2-4.. Lytle’s first fight was a failure and as Dana said he gave UFC for three fighters. Later, Lytle came back with wins and losses.
We then see Pete Spratt’s UFC record and what stands out the most is that Spratt actually was offered a title shot against Matt Hughes but he turned the offer.

Dana goes over his record of 2-2 and says Spratt has a lot to offer. He thinks Spratt might have made a mistake in turning down the title offer against Hughes but thinks Spratt and Lytle will put on an amazing fight. Dana also tells us that Spratt is the oldest member in the household surpassing Shonie Carter.

Round 1 Chris Lytle vs. Pete Spratt

The actual fight turns out to be a wash. Both men push each other to the octagon, Chris lands a couple of punches to the ribs. Both men fall down with Chris landing on top of Spratt. Lytle uses this to his advantage for the duration of the round landing in a few hits here and there. Pratt is never able to Lytle of him then at 2:56 at Round 1, Lytle catches Pratt in a headlock and turns into a chokehold. Pratt amazingly taps out to the choke ending the fight.

After the fight, Spratt doesn’t take the loss very well. Not blaming anyone for the loss, Spratt nonetheless feels he was the best fighter in the house even though he really did not have a great showing here. Despite having a better UFC record than Chris Lytle, Spratt still lost his fight convincingly.
