Andy Wang took on Brandon Melendez as Team Pulver looked to go four wins in a row against Team Penn.

Team Pulver is shown training and Jen’s Pulver picks on fighter Wayne Weems who isn’t doing the exercises right. Marlon Simms in the house starts getting on people’s nerves when he starts bragging about his extensive street fighting record.

Later Matt Hughes made a special appearance as he lead Team Pulver to a training session. Team Pulver then decides who will fight next: Brandon Melendez and Andy Wang.

Andy Wang is confident he will win. Dana White says Wang’s jijutsu skills might be troublesome for Melendez. The fighter’s do separate promos. Wang talks about his late grandfather while Melendez talked about his wife and kid.

The fight itself is dominated by Melendez. In Round 1 Melendez catches Wang with a nasty left strike hitting Wang hard. The two exchange strikes for the next minute then Wang tries a series of kicks on Melendez that do not end up connecting.

At 1:58 Melendez lands a kick to the body of Wang. Ref John Mccarthy calls a timeout with 52 seconds left. During the timeout, BJ Penn tells Wang to take down Melendez. However, the round ends without Wang following through on Penn’s advice.

Round 2 starts with not much improvement for Wang as Melendez has his way with him. Melendez tees of with strikes while Wang is more preoccupied with defending him than doing any offense. At 3:11 Wang finally down Melendez, however he doesn’t following with any submissions or holds. Instead, Wang opts to continue trying to strike at Melendez. BJ Penn is screaming at Wang to continue to try takedowns on Melendez.

Near the last minute of the fight, Wang and Melendez grapple near the Octagan cage but Wang seems too tired to do anything.

The fight eventually ends and not surprising Brandon Melendez is declared the unaminous winner. During the fight recap, Wang admits that he was stubborn to not follow Penn’s advice. Dana White himself also speaks about the bad choice Wang made in not following through with takedown. Then after the fight, Wang breaks down and starts crying. BJ Penn sees the crying as a joke and starts laughing as Wang refused to following through on his help.

Team Pulver comes up victories and remains undefeated.
