Quinton Jackson and Forrest Griffin pick their teams. Both teams go through their training sessions. One of the fighters develops a cold sore and is kicked of the show. Thus another fighter, Patrick Schultz, comes back to fight. The fight for this week then will be Mike Dolce representing Team Jackson vs. Jesse Taylor representing Team Griffin.
Dolce is thirty-one years old while Taylor is twenty-five but in the pre-talks Dolce is very confident that he will win. In Round 1, Dolce takes it to Taylor with various strikes but Taylor counter by catching Dolce in a triangle choke. The first round is dominated by Taylor who tries several times to use the choke. Eventually Dolce has his own moments and even gets on top of Taylor to land his own blows. The rest of the round is a back and forth attempt led by Taylor as the horn sounds.
In Round 2 Taylor once again gets on top of Dolce. The two exchange elbows but once Taylor seems to come ahead on points. Dolce for the first time unlike the first round is starting to cover up. Taylor reapplies the choke and Dolce taps out.
During the post fight talks Dana White says that Taylor owned the first round. Jackson and Griffin then give their own thoughts with Forest summing it up by saying that “Jesse muscled Mike out”.
