Everything To Lose - Recap

The teams discuss strategy as Matthew Riddle is chosen to fight Tim Credeur of Team Griffin. Riddle runs his mouth on another fighter. As Riddle is only twenty two years old and Tim is thirty years old Riddle thinks he has many years for UFC. In the pre-fight interview Tim says Matt isn’t as tough as he is. Dante Riviera says Riddle will not make it out the first round. He even approaches Riddle to bet on his fight that he won’t win. Despite his confidence in himself, Riddle declines the offer. Later in the show, Riddle admits he is the underdog.

The age difference proves not to be in Matt’s favor as the fight is very competitive.

Round 1 starts with Matt trying to apply a rear choke on Tim. The two grapple, then stand and exchange kicks and jabs with Tim coming up on top. Matt tries to grapple (wrestle) Tim to ground but he blocks it. The two strike each other. Tim eventually picks up Matt and dumps him on the mat hard. Matt applies a choke again but can’t quite finish Tim tries a leg submission but Matt counters with hits to the head. The two grapple again then Tim comes on top of Matt and starts wailing away at him. As the first round comes to a close it’s clear Tim has an advantage.

In Round 2 Matt comes out with a right kick but Tim blocks it. He then takes Matt down again. The two fight for position but Tim pulls ahead and starts striking down Matt. Coach Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is now vocally concerned for Matt as he is screaming at him to get up. The two fight near Octagon cage. This proves to be disastrous for Matt as Tim has him cornered and once again puts Tim ahead on points. In desperation, Matt tries right and left combos. It actually works as he is now back on top of Tim but it proves to be temporary. Matt is visually fatigue, Tim turns around and gets around Matt and applies an arm submission. Having been beat up for most of the fight, Matt finally taps out giving Tim the win and keeping Team Forrest undefeated.

In the post fight interviews Coach Griffin and Rampage give their own thoughts. While Forrest looks at the fight objective, Rampage is unable to muster any good thoughts basically saying that he can’t believe his team is losing to “these punks”.
