Coco Is King - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Jesse Taylor takes on Tim Credeur. Team Forrest does their training session. The coaches walk into Palms casino expecting coach’s challenge. At first Forrest and Rampage think the challenge will be cards but Dana lets them know the challenge will be basketball. Quinton jokes that he sucks the basketball. Dana says that the coaches will be playing for ten thousand dollars. Amazingly enough, when Dana says he’ll double the money if Rampage nails a three, Rampage does just that. Forrest wins the challenge. Jesse Taylor gets wasted when the guys go on a drinking binge in the house. JT actually urinates on himself as Tim Credeur points out. Tim says JT tried to drown in the small Jacuzzi so he pools him out. Despite that Tim still calls JT a juggernaut. Tim comments on Jesse’s fighting style and says he’ll finish him when JT gets tired. Jesse says he wants to do all the right things to win the fight. Dana calls JT a wrestler and Tim a Jijitsu guy. White says you’ll never know where a fight goes with two guys like these. Jesse talks about missing his three years old son while Tim is astounded by how far he has come in the show. He says that a couple of months ago he was contemplating retirement. He also says he owes a lot to his wife. Tim talks about his instructor Rodrigo telling him how not to give up and how that phrase has signified his career. The semifinal fight is about to begin as we see the Tale of the Tape. Both fighters are evenly match but Tim is five years older than Jesse.

In Round 1 both fighters are slugging it out with Jesse ahead on points as Tim on his back. Jesse lands a couple of hard shots to Tim’s face. Tim tries an arm submission but Jesse is able to power out if and still rain blows on Tim. Jesse continues to land blow after blow with Tim at guard. The coaches try to help Tim but don’t provide much strategy. When the horn sounds, one can actually see Tim cough blood signifying Jesse hard shots.

Round 2 starts in similar fashion to previous round. Tim throws a wild right kick missing. Jesse using his wrestling and upper body once again takes down Tim to mat. Tim on his back can do nothing but put his legs around him. Unfortunately at this angle Tim is open to any of Jesse’s blows. In the next minute we see signs of life in Tim. Tim is able to go around Jesse and is able to put him at guard. Jesse tries to turn around giving Tim the chance to pull a rear naked choke. This flurry is short lived as Jesse once again gets Tim right where he had before, on his back. The next minutes is pure domination as Jesse is able to land blow after blow, strike after strike on Tim. Tim isn’t putting much of a fight. Tim tries to turn his body around but all this does is give Jesse more angle to strike him at. Tim’s help yells at him to control Jesse’s posture but that doesn’t seem to be what’s causing Tim to lose.

Despite this the fight goes to a Round 3. Jesse goes for a takedown but Tim blocks it. However, Tim isn’t able to block the next attempt and once again Tim is on his back receiving every blow you can think off from Jesse. Tim tries another attempt to break Jesse’s hold. He is able to actually get on his back again but Jesse’s strength overpowers him. Dana says Tim was one submission of winning the fight even though this fight was dominated from beginning to finish by Jesse Taylor
