Body Bag - Recap

Clips from the last episode about the Browning/Delgado fight. Team Mir does a training session when Krzysztof fractures his thumb.Frank starts talking about how good a fighter Vinny Malgaheas is. Team Nogueira does their training session. Antonio talks about the heart of Jules Bruchez and how if he had control of the fight he would choose him next to fight. We go back to Mir training. Mir talks about conditioning for a fight. He talks about bringing a coach for conditioning.The workout is different as fighters are using headgear with snorkel masks while riding a treadmill. Mir describes it as limited oxygen with higher output so body builds a resistance to lactic acid.

We shift later to Team Nogueira throwing Antonio a birthday party. Jules Bruchez has actually baked a chocolate cake for him.The guys enjoy dinner with their coach. Team Mir members Vinny Malgaheas don't enjoy the spectacle calling them gay and all sorts of names.Shane Nelson flat out says Team Nogueira sucks. Vinny goes to say that he doesn't care about team he only cares about himself. The official fight announcement is done and no surprise it's Vinny vs. Jules.Antonio gives his thoughts about the fight. He thinks Vinny does have good Jiu-Jitsu skills but still thinks Jules can win.

Vinny talks about himself how he is from Brazil and how he likes to train.He says he learned Jiu-Jitsu at 13 years old. Team Nogueira gets wind of Vinny's trash talk and they engage in their own. Antonio says he didn't want Vinny as his first pick citing him as arrogant. Antonio gets into Vinny's face. Nogueira says they are now enemies. The argument stems from Vinny's statement that Nogueira is just a grappler. Vinny tries to apologize and make amends but Nogueira doesn't believe he is being sincere.

We go to training with Jules with Antonio. Jules calls this the most important fight for him. Antonio says Jules has great hands.Jules says he'll make the fight a boxing match since he knows Vinny is an accomplished Jiu-Jitsu fighter.Team Mir cites Jules being left-handed as a possible advantage.

Krzysztof decides to play a prank to get inside Jules head.He buys a body bag and a RIP sign for him. We move back to Vinny training. Krzysztof notes that Vinny was his training for Teamquest. He does not that Vinny does not like to get hit in the face. Jules finds Krzysztof's prank amusing but doesn't take offense to it.Jules admits he is the underdog but likes it because there is no high expectations for him.

Fight day arrives, Mir jokes that if Jules submits him he will quit as a coach.The Tale of the Tape is shown both guys are nearly equal but Jules is 30 years old while Vinny is 23. Round 1 of this Light Heavyweight starts with throwing strong right kicks to Jules. Jules blocks them but doesn't do much offense. Instead he seems to be waiting for the right opportunity to throw a hit. Vinny throws another strong kick. Vinny lands a kick to Jules's stomach.He throws another one which connects. Jules is just standing there just looking for the hit while Vinny is on the offense. The two finally tangle. Jules throws him down. Vinny goes to work throwing strikes on him. Jules pushes of but Vinny is on top of him. Vinny applies an arm submission.for the easy win. After the fight both Mir calls the fight a nightmare for Jules. He says Jules was "petrified" Dana says he almost fell asleep because of the lack of effort by Jules. Vinny says the fight was over when the fight went to the ground. Jules says he is disappointed by this effort but says that at least he lost in the octagon than in a local show.
