A new season of fighting begins with new coaches Rich Franklin and Matt Hughes, however the premiere turns into a disappointment when three fighters quit within a mere day.

15 :02x02 - The Teams Are Picked

Team Hughes and Team Franklin are officially assembled. Dan Christison, a heavyweight, is chosen as an alternate to replace one of the fighters who left. The fighters compete in their first team challenge and the winners get to decide the first fight.

16 :02x03 - No Pain, No Grain

Josh Burkman is eliminated due to injury resulting from the Melvin fight and Josh Von Flue is selected as an alternate. Another team challenge is made and this time the Heavyweights are up for elimination.
