| The debut season of The Ultimate Fighter on SpikeTV would proved to a smashing success. Laying down the groundwork for future seasons to come it would feature upcoming fighters such as Forrest Griffin, Diego Sanchez, Stephan Bonner, Chris Leben who would go to success in the UFC. The UFC hopefuls would fight according to weight class. This season would be serious but fun as well as teams would also go head to head in challenges. The season would strive to grab the UFC fan by introducing two legendary fighters as coaches Randy "The Natural" Couture and Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell. Fighters would be awarded a six figure contract in the UFC for being Ultimate Fighter. As with other season, there would be duds in not just the fighters but the fights themselves. In fact in a couple of episode there would be fights at all. This season's list of UFC hopefuls include: Bobby Southworth, Sam Hoger, Forrest Griffin, Alex Schoenauer, Stephan Bonnar, Mike Swick, Lodune Sincaid, Jason Thacker.
