Eliot Ness, played by Robert Stack
Grim, somber, and dedicated leader of an elite Federal squad known as the Untouchables. Eliot Ness is a dedicated law enforcement officer who hates crime and criminals with a passion. Though he has a wife, it appears as though he's married to his job most of the time. Ness is a tough boss with his subordinates but he's also loyal and fair with them. That's why they're willing to go the extra mile for him. It's mentioned once in the dialogue that he is 35 years old although the real life Ness was a few years younger than that during the years in which the show took place. It was also mentioned once that Ness has a son although this was not true in real life. We only got to see the inside of Ness's house once during the entire series in the episode "One-Armed Bandits." Although his fiancee appeared in the two-part pilot episode, Ness's wife never appeared on-camera during the course of the series run although he would occasionally be seen talking to her on the telephone. |
