  Episode Notes
Though The Untouchables is often though of as a show about enforcing the Prohibition laws during that era, this episode is one of only two Season One entries where bootlegging is the subject. The other, which aired late in the season, was Portrait of a Thief.

Phyllis Coates would return in The Frank Nitti Story and A Fist of Five.

Ted de Corsia would return in Come and Kill Me.

Location: Chicago

  Episode Quotes
Harrington: (after trashing Benny's place) Benny, Benny, what a waste. If this keeps up you won't stay in business.

Loxie: (to Benny) I think his act stinks. That's what I say.
Johnny: Yeah, but you'll laugh everytime the boss does.

  Cultural References
One wonders if the late, great country singer Johnny Paycheck once watched this episode and took his stage moniker from its lead protagonist.

  Analysis
There's quite a bit wrong with this episode (a lot of pathos, cardboard villains, lack of screen time for the Untouchables) but there's one thing that saves it: a brilliant performance from guest star Cameron Mitchell. It's one of the best of the series and makes Ain't We Got Fun? well worth watching.
