For one of the few times in the series, Frank Nitti seems a little wary of one of his underlings as shown by how quickly he moves to smooth things over with Frank Diamond after their little disagreement. | Robert Gist, who plays the hired assassin, Fred "Caddy"Croner, would later direct the Season Four episode, Come and Kill Me, which, ironically, also dealt with mob assassins. | Locations: Chicago, Miami |

Nitti: You know that appeals to me. The Bulgarian goes out with everybody watchin'. | Zangara: (about FDR's visit) And I gonna be ready for him. | Cermak: (to Ness about the raids) Treat 'em rough. | Allison: (about the note) Must be pretty hot stuff to cause all this. |

In the scene where Nitti is shot, he seems to all but disappear while Ness and Allison read the letter to Al Capone written by Frank Diamond. Where's Nitti when this is going on? They could have at least put in some moans and groans. What should have been done is to cut to the sidewalk outside the Montmarte Cafe with perhaps a shot in the background of an ambulance taking the wounded Nitti to a hospital. Then have Ness and Allison look at the contents of the letter. |

Part 2 of this two-parter drags in spots and is hampered by an incredibly hokey scene where Frank Nitti gets shot but all in all it's still a memorable episode. Joe Mantell as assassin Giuseppe Zangara wins the acting honors here as the Untouchables win the battle in this episode but end up losing the war. |
