Eliot Ness and the Untouchables discover an insidious plan to free Al Capone from the train taking him westward to imprisonment on Alcatraz. They then race to the small California town of Cloverdale where Capone is scheduled to be freed from the train by a group of Western gangsters hired by Frank Nitti.

The basic storyline for this episode appears to be borrowed from the 1954 suspense drama ]Suddenly starring Frank Sinatra and Sterling Hayden. In that movie gangsters took over a small California town in order to assassinate the President of the United States whose train was scheduled to make a brief stop there. This one is a bit more pedestrian than Part 1 but it's still an enjoyable ride for the most part. An epic climactic shoot out climaxes the episode. |
