New syndicate czar Nero Rankin is a man worthy of Satan himself. He threatens to have carloads of gunmen open up on innocent pedestrians unless Ness ceases his raids against syndicate operations.

After the death of Judge Foley and the destruction of the Underground Court, represenatives of the big syndicate, then in control of over 50% of the nation's crime, met at a roadhouse outside of Chicago. They were meeting to vote on whether Nero Rankin, owner of the roadhouse and Judge Foley's designated successor, would be their new chairman. Rankin: I ain't some old horse gonna eat grass the rest of my life.
Sylvia: (about Rankin) The old fool's gonna get himself killed.
Sylvia: I haven't had much to do with cops before.
Ness: If you stick us we bleed.
Ness: You the manager of this club?
Madame Amy: How clever of you to guess.
Rankin: (to the council) I clean dirt like you outta my fingernails every day.
Rankin: Now you'll see how class operates.
When the Untouchables are driving over to the hotel for their climactic showdown with the syndicate bosses, Agent Rossman is not inside the car but when they arrive at the hotel parking garage he comes charging out with the rest of them.
Though John Duke's character is called Lefty, he appears to be right handed.
It probably would have been better had John Dehner and Will Kuluva switched roles. Kuluva was more effective in sympathetic parts than as a lead heavy.
