Officer Lewis Powell has fallen off the wagon and wakes up in a pool of blood in an alley with his off duty weapon missing. He explains to Walsh that he may of killed a man while in a drunken blackout and asks for his help. As Walsh and Shraeger try to figure out the missing pieces of Lewis' unexplainable night, Banks and Delahoy discover they are both victims of identity theft. When they investigate the murder of the man pretending to be Banks, Delahoy and Banks get a picture of the man who stole their identities and believe there are some aspects of their lives which they should change.

While Sgt. Brown is out, Alvarez takes charge but things do not go well. Walsh and Shraeger look into the murder of drug store owner who was shot while running naked in the Lower East Side. When the victim's daughter's boyfriend tells the detectives about a confrontation the victim had with a loan shark, the case must take a new direction to solve the murder. Meanwhile, Beaumont and Cole investigate theft of tapes from an apology line service, and Delahoy convinces the medical examiner to give him an MRI.
