As I Lay Dying - Recap

In tennessee a woman is shocked by klaus. He says he needs to use her phone and makes her let him into her house. He is looking for a guy named Ray Sutton and he threatens the other person in the house, too. They get the information he needs and he tells Stephan to kill the one girl quickly and make the other suffer. He tells him he will be in the car. He attacks.

Elena is in bed and wakes up. Jeremy wakes up, too. Caroline is running around getting elena's birthday party. Alaric is living in elena's house now. Damon answers the door naked to Elena. Damon has no faith that Stefan  is still alive.

Jeremy is skyping with Bonnie at work. He sees Vicky and then almost his ex vampire girlfriend. Tyler and Caroline are still pretending to not be dating. Krause has found Ray. Ray is a were. They want to find the pack. 

Damon and Alaric are checking the lead and they think it's too quiet. The house is trashed. They see that it was stefan. Caroline, tyler, and Elena talk about that kiss with Damon.

Turns out tyler and Caroline are still friends with extreme sexual tension. Damon sets a den of werewolves on fire and Ray is still being tortured. Klause is convinced to let Stefan talk to Damon to get him off their trail. Elena gets ready for her party and misses Stefan a great deal. Damon is still in love with Elena. 

The party is underway and everyone is having a great time. There are a lot of people there. She wanted it small. Jeremy is rolling a joint and he smokes it with Matt. He tells him about the visions he's been having lately. 

Alaric feels like he's the worst chaperone, ever. Damon's girlfriend gets ready to leave and they shine a bright light on her. She runs and falls and she sees that it's Stefan. He kills his girlfriend.

Caroline watched Tyler dance with someone else and is jealous. Matt talks to Caroline. She makes the girl with Tyler leave. Elena wants to leave the party early. Elena just wants to know if Stefan is alive. They found the maps Damon used to track Klaus.

Elena calls Damon and he avoids her to go get his girlfriend. Stefan wants him to let him go. Stefan let's his girlfriend walk off a ledge and she ends up dying right in front of Damon.

Jeremy goes to speak to Matt and he seems tripped out and too drunk. Jeremy gets in to drive Matt home and Vicky appears, she wants help. His ex also appears. Caroline and Tyler argue over other people and then kiss. They leave.

Damon comes home and Elena wants to know what is up. He tells her that Stefan has been mass murdering and that he is gone and will never be back in her lifetime.

Matt and Jeremy eat food and he goes to leave but asks about the Vicky situation. He can't believe ghosts exist. Ray is still being tortured and force fed. Then he is killed. Klause and Stefan talk about how you never get over your family, but it needs to happen because it blocks complete progression. Caroline and Tyler make love. Damon is crushed and destroying his room. 

Stefan tries to call her and can't speak. She tells him it'll be okay. She also tells him that she loves him and he should hold on to that. He cries. Tyler's mother shoots Caroline.
