After the Monarch's car explodes, Brock is taken to surgery but dies on the operating table.
The Present
Three Nazis arrive at the Venture Compound and take Dr. Venture hostage. Hatred tries to get Hank and Dean to help him. A new-look Hank, wearing Brock's jacket, is ready to go. Dean is at the hangar with Dr. Orpheus, nerving himself to kill a dog, Hitler. Dean can't bring himself to do it and Hatred orders H.E.L.P.eR. to kill the dog. H.E.L.P.eR.'s head is mounted on a spider robot, The dog runs off. Orpheus fights H.E.L.P.eR. and unleashes a blast of mystical energy. When the Nazis see it, their faces melt.
The Past
Brock wakes up in a secret OSI base and discovers that his chest is badly injured. He sneaks out and overhears the doctors discussing their plan to wipe someone's memories. Brock figures they're talking about him and leaves, unaware that they're really discussing Hatred. Brock is spotted and the guards open fire, but end up fighting an invisible intruder. Meanwhile, Brock captures a doctor and forces him to reveal that they brought Brock there after the explosion. When Brock removes the bandages on his chest, he discovers that H.E.L.P.eR.'s head is embedded in his chest. He opens a door and discovers that he's aboard the OSI hovercarrier. He leaps out, grabs a flying soldier, and takes his jetpack so he can escape.
A little earlier than the Present
As he uses the bathroom, Hatred plans an assault on the invading Nazis and tells Hank to turn off the lights so they can launch an ambush. They figure the Nazis are after Hitler, their dog, but Dean refuses to turn it over. Hatred tells him to kill Hitler but Dean refuses and runs out. Dr. Orpheus warns them that only the gold dagger can kill Hitler.
A little later than the Past
Government agents come to the Venture compound to watch over the Ventures in the aftermath of the assault. OSI agents load up the dead Hank and Dean clones and ship them away. They're unaware that Brock, with H.E.L.P.eR.'s head in his chest, has managed to escape. Meanwhile, Dean argues with the agent watching him and asks him to read the Suzy parts of his
Giant Boy Detective book. He'd rather not. Brock breaks in and knocks out Dean's minder, and then the man's partner when he comes in. Brock gives Dean his wrist communicator and sneaks away. Hank comes in and doesn't believe that Brock was there until Dean shows him their bodyguard's communicator.
Even earlier than the Present
The X-1 arrives and Hank runs to greet it, while Dean is playing with his new pet, Giant Boy Detective. Dr. Venture says that the dog has to go. Dr. Venture goes to see the jet and discovers that Henchman 21 has hijacked it and arrived with his LARP buddies to guard the compound. Sgt. Hatred, replacing Brock as the Ventures' bodyguard, arrives, but Henchman 21 insists that he's there to guard the place. Dr. Venture explains that some men hired him to clone their leader, but Henchman 21 demands the priceless family heirloom that he paid Dr. Venture. Meanwhile, Dean goes to see Dr. Orpheus, who is making omelets. Giant Boy Detective has gotten into Orpheus' reliquary chest. Orpheus senses a great evil from the dog and tells Dean that he has to kill it, and then teleports away to prepare a ritual to destroy the evil. Henchman 21 arrives and asks Dean about the comic book that he's reading.
A little less later than the Past
In the South American jungle, Brock arrives as the head Nazi collects an unstable package from a doctor. Brock knocks the Nazi out and then demands that the doctor operate on him. When the doctor considers refusing, Brock shows him the unpinned hand grenade he's holding.
Even earlier still than the Present
Hatred has Dean in uniform and is teaching him how to break down and reassemble a gun while blindfolded. Hank is there but refuses to participate, and reads
Marvel Comics #1 instead. He insists that Hatred isn't their bodyguard, and only Brock can give them orders. Hatred finally gives Hank a gun, winning his trust, but Dean breaks into tears. Hank can't aim, but Hatred is willing to be hit to win the boy's trust. Hank shoots both the comic and Hatred, but the sergeant insists he's doing the right thing. Meanwhile, Dr. Venture reveals that he's upgraded the damaged H.E.L.P.eR. by placing its head on a spider robot.
Even less later than the Past
Brock leaves Steve Summers and his "significant other" Sasquatch and leaves their cabin in the woods to get revenge on the people who double-crossed him. They exchange goodbyes and presents and Brock leaves.
Even earlier still than the Present
The Nazis arrive with Giant Boy Detective and talk with Dr. Venture. They explain that the dog has the blood of Hitler in its veins and they want Dr. Venture to use it to create a Hitler clone. They give him eight months to do it... or else. Hank and Dean come in and Dean is instantly attracted to the dog.
Even less later than the Past
Hunter and Molotov Cocktease meet in their new headquarters and plan their assassinations. In the vents above, Brock sneaks through the building but encounters a masked assassin. They fight and crash through into the office below. Hunter can't bring himself to shoot his former student, but Molotov Cocktease has no problem. She shots Brock in the chest, knocking him back through the window and down to the street below. More masked assassins grab Brock, put him in their van, and escape.
Even earlier still than the Present
Henchman 21 wants Dr. Venture to clone Henchman 24, but the doctor warns that Henchman 24 won't have any of the original's memories. Henchman 21 insists and tries to pay him with a collectible
Marvel Comics #1. Dr. Venture thinks it's a worthless comic book and Henchman 21 tells him to look it up the Internet. He then provides Dr. Venture with Henchman 24's finger to use to create a clone. When Hank comes in, Dr. Venture hastily dismisses Henchman 21 so Hank won't know what's going on. Dr Venture gives Hank the "worthless" comic book to read.
Even less later than the Past
Brock's captors take him to a darkened warehouse and demand to know how he's connected to Molotov Cocktease. He realizes that they're SPHINX and insists that he's no longer with OSI. They bring in the captive Hunter, who explains that he sent the assassins after Brock so he'd leave the Ventures and start working as a soldier again. Brock realizes that Hunter is an undercover agent and is actually still working with OSI. Hunter explains that he's had the gender surgery undone and he's now working with SPHINX along with other former OSI agents.
Just past the Present
Dr. Orpheus completes the ritual and tells Dean to bring Giant Boy Detective. However, Dean admits that he's lost the dog.
In the hills above the compound, Giant Boy Detective is on the loose. Brock and Shore Leave arrive and stab it with the gold dagger, sending it and Hitler to Hell. Hank finds them and embraces Brock, glad to be reunited with his favorite bodyguard. Brock tells him that no one can know that he's around, but promises that he'll always be there for Hank. They slip away as Sgt. Hatred arrives. Impressed, he wonders if Hank killed the Hitler dog, and Hank lies and claims that he did.
