The season premier starts up with the Monarch phasing out of a flashback consisting of the last scene from “Showdown at Cremation Creek, Part II”, where Dr. Girlfriend was about to say something very important him which went along the lines of “Monarch I’m…”; when all of a sudden he’s being shot at by several droid like machines with lasers guns. One particular droid shot at him and the laser beam penetrated his left wing. Dr Girlfriend appears and tells him to pay attention because that last shot almost hit her in the head. The Monarch tells her that he’s sorry and that he was distracted over what she had confessed to him the other day while they were inside the escape pod after their defunct wedding. The Monarch states that it was the last thing he expected her to say.
[OPEING CREDIT SEQUENCE]
After the opening sequence, all of the Monarch’s remaining henchmen that survived the attack on their flying cocoon fortress are shown inside a pile of wreckage of what use to be their fortress. Number 24 asks Number 21 what to do now since all of what just happened. Number 21 suggests making their own path and destiny. Suddenly Dr. Girlfriend's "murderous moppets" come to the scene, and declare themselves leaders of the henchmen group. Number 21 asks them in a doubtful way “who made them the leaders?” One of them tells Number 21 that he’ll point out the obvious, so he starts calling out for henchmen numerically and telling them to get “front and centered” without knowing any of their ranks. Every other henchmen just start looking at each other, confused. So one of the murderous moppets realizes this and tells Number 21 and 24 that since there are no Monarch henchmen under teen numbers, and that since they are Dr. Girlfriend's number 2s, they should be the leaders. Number 24 asks them that if their ranked by what numbers they are. (This meaning that the Monarch’s henchmen aren’t ranked by what their numbers are.) Number 21 tells Number 24 to be quit about that. Number 24 argues over 21 telling them to “hush” or be quiet. The moppets continue to say they therefore should be in charge of the group. They go on to say that the Monarch’s henchmen are inept, undisciplined, and lazy. One of the moppets kicks Number 24 on the knee after he failed to answer the other moppet’s question. Number 21 threatens the moppet who kicked number 24 telling him to watch out because there are more of them (the Monarch’s henchmen) then there are of the moppets. Number 24 continues by saying that that their numbers aren’t the only things they have superior to them, but in height and weight. The moppets become disgruntled over this and start to successfully fight all of the Monarch’s henchmen, hitting each of their groins in a double team move. After the short fight, one of the moppets, the one named “Kevin”, asks them if they have any questions. The other Moppet, “Tim-Tom”, divides teams and tells team “A” to clean up all the mess. And Kevin tells team “B” to take a list he has and go to Home Depot, and ask for a Carl.
Now, in an undisclosed location, Dr Girlfriend is seated in a chair surrounded by thirteen monitors with a shadowy figure in each of them. Dr. Girlfriend tells someone that they can’t do this to them and asks them where the Monarch is. To which a voice replies that she’ll see him soon enough. Another voice tells her that she is to be fully questioned by the Guild of Calamitous Intent. The same voice proceeds to ask her if she knows why she is there. [The Scene cuts to the Monarch being asked the same question in a different lighted room (orange for the Monarch, and pink for Dr. Girlfriend.)] The Monarch responds that he has no idea why they took him, and proceeds to tell them what happened before he was abruptly attacked by the droids (Which was inside his escape pod with Dr Girlfriend consummating their marriage.), and latter kidnapped them. Another shadowy figure in a monitor tells the Monarch that this is the way the Guild handles these types of things. Another voice tells him that since what transpired, the Phantom Limb taking over the Guild, they need to know if he is to be trusted or not. [The scene cuts back to Dr. Girlfriend responding to the same comments made by the voices.] Dr. Girlfriend insisting and telling the voices that since they are the ones who’s been promoting the Phantom Limb all this time, they are the ones not be trusted. A voice responds to her by saying that she doesn’t have to be so defensive about this matter. Another voice tells her that they only have some questions for her and want to know more about the traitor “The Phantom Limb”. [Cuts back to the Monarch responding to the same question the previous voice asked Dr. Girlfriend about Phantom Limb]. The Monarch sarcastically tells the voices that he knows that the Phantom Limb wears a lot of the color purple for a white guy and asks the voices what else they want to know. [The scene cuts back to Dr. Girlfriend.] Dr. Girlfriend tells the group of voices that Phantom Limb ruined her life. To which one of the voices replies that Phantom Limb actually began her life and career, and proceeds to show her what he means via tape recordings.
In a summer field we are shown a younger Phantom Limb talking to a younger Dr. Girlfriend in French, while sitting at their picnic. Dr. Girlfriend says to the Phantom Limb that she didn’t know that he could speak French. Phantom Limb chuckles and tells her that there is much she doesn’t know about him, and that tonight is her lucky knight that she will learn all his secrets. Phantom Limb starts unbuckling his pants. Dr. Girlfriend thinks he’s going to show her his private parts to impress her. But the Phantom Limb insists that this is something else, it is his curse but now it is a blessing. He takes his pants off to reveal that he has invisible feet and limbs. Dr. Girlfriend, not so shocked, asks him what happened to his legs. To which he replies to her in a question “What do you know of Evil”. Dr. Girlfriend asks him sarcastically if he “eviled” his legs. The Phantom Limb, while walking to her, tells her that “Evil” is misunderstood and that society is the one who dictates and condones such acts. Dr. Girlfriend, still a bit frustrated that he hasn’t given her a straight answer, asks him if he has something else to tell him or if he is just trying to scare him for the fun of it. The Phantom Limb asks Dr. Girlfriend to join him; in return she’ll have everything she ever wanted. The both hug, then the Phantom Limb shows her a card containing the Guild’s insignia and telling her that “The world is hers”.
The surveillance tape ends, and cuts back to the Monarch. The Monarch complains about it and threatens the Council (the voices) that that tape cannot show up on YouTube. The Monarch continues to complain and asks them why they are torturing him in this way. They should use other methods instead. The Council replies that this isn’t a torture. Then the Council discuss with each other whether what they are doing to the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend is a trial, interrogation, or a crucible. After this, the Council tells the Monarch to see how easily Dr. Girlfriend was seduced by evil. The Monarch tells the Council that he knows about Dr. Girlfriends past and that he already knows that she would be easily seduced by any man wearing a tight evil costume. A Council member asks the Monarch if he knows everything about Dr. Girlfriend and the traitor the Phantom Limb. To which the Monarch replies he does. Another Council member asks him if she knows his past with the Phantom Limb. The Monarch, in a insecure way, replies to that cCouncil member that “she does”. Another voice tells the Monarch to “indulge” them, and to observe another surveillance video.
In an undisclosed location, the Guild hidden lair called the “Citadel of Attribution”, Dr. Girlfriend, who is wearing a springtime getup (her “Lady Au Pair” persona), walks out to an elevator to find a man in a cape named “Watch”, who is a Guild operative. He come down off of the elevator and welcomes Dr. Girlfriend and introduces himself to her. Watch tells Dr. Girlfriend that he is the only human face she will be seeing, speaking to, enjoying and interacting with during her stay. Dr. Girlfriend finds this strange, and so she replies to this statement with an “Okay?” When suddenly Ward, Watch’s companion operative, walks out with a bag of presumably Fritos (As shows it was a bag of Fritas), and asks Watch if that “that’s Lady Au Pair?” in a doubtful kind of way. Watch gets a bit annoyed over Ward ruining his plans and confronts Ward on it. Watch tells Ward that she was only supposed to see only one other person, which was himself. Ward asks Watch if that’s really true. Watch replies it is. Ward then asks him if he should put on his hood back on. Watch tell him to “forget it” because she already saw his face, and since he’s already there with them he might as well stay. Ward offers Dr. Girlfriend some of his chips, but she declines.
Watch, Ward, and “Lady Au Pair” (Dr. Girlfriend) are now walking toward an undisclosed location. Watch asks Lady Au Pair why she “bombed” as a single, referring to being a lone Villainess. Lady Au Pair replies to him that her moppets were hard to handle. But Watch says he doesn’t want to hear about that. What Watch is more interested now if she’s interested in a “Number Two Position”, specifically in candidacy of Vengeance. Watch continues and asks her if she’s into that sort of thing. Lady Au Pair says she isn’t interested in vengeance, and that she’s more into the “general studies program”. Ward jumps in and asks her if she has a “theme” in mind, and proceeds to give examples, specifically if she’d like a mutation theme (referring to her deep voice). Watch stops him mid sentence because it’s rude of him to mention it. Lady Au Pair says she isn’t interested in making a theme based on her deep voice. They come to a stop. Watch the proceeds to shows her a mutation theme called the “Ocelot Woman”. Which when bitten by a mutated Ocelot, Ward describes, she becomes part Ocelot herself. Ward continues to advertise this theme by telling her about the costume and its features, but Lady Au Pair doesn’t like it. Watch then show her the second theme, which he calls the “Mink de Lovely”. Ward describes this theme as she’ll get her powers after she is dipped inside a boiling tub of mink blood and other parts of a mink’s body and which has been laced with gamma ray radiation. Ward then continues to advertise this theme by showing her the “very sexy” costume it comes with. But Lady Au Pair was thinking of a more suitable theme for her natural talents, one that plays with her abilities and not her sexuality. Watch finally comes up with something that would be more suitable for he, he whispers to Ward that she’s the “feminist type”. So Watch proceeds to show her the “Betty Rage” theme, which is a woman who strikingly resembles “Betty Page” in a sort of dominatrix getup holding a whip. But then and there, the Phantom Limb shows up with his henchmen, interrupting Lady Au Pair's theme picking.
The Phantom Limb shouts out “The girl is with” him. Watch and Ward ask for forgiveness over their insolence, and they start backing off. The Phantom Limb states that he will complete Lady Au Pair’s training himself. He then calls for “Shadowman 9” several times. When low and behold the Monarch comes gaping out. (This is when the Monarch was a henchman working for the Phantom Limb.) Shadowman 9 (The Monarch), comes up from the multitude of the other henchmen complaining and saying that he thought he was “Shadow guy 6”. The Phantom Limb demands Shadow man 9 to take Lady Au Pair to the lair of the Phantom. Shadow man 9 awkwardly says that he’ll do it. Phantom Limb then asks him what he is waiting for. So Shadowman 9 replies “now?”, as he didn’t think he was asking him to escort her at that moment.
The surveillance tape ends, and we are taken back to Dr. Girlfriend viewing this video as it ends. Dr. Girlfriend asks if that henchman, Shadowman 9, was actually the Monarch. A voice of the Council members tells her to “silence” in a menacing voice. Another Council member argues with the intimidating Council member over this outburst, but then tells him to proceed. The first Council member continues to talk to Dr. Girlfriend and tells her that the Phantom Limb has been controlling her from the beginning. But another Council member then interrupts the Council member that was talking before hand and says the same menacing “silence” act as did the other Council member said, but is rapidly corrected by another Council member who informs him that he has to say “Silence” when Dr. Girlfriend is talking. And so he goes on to say that he forgot what he was saying to Dr. Girlfriend. Another Council member steps in and tells Dr. Girlfriend, menacingly, that the Phantom Limb was more than a mentor to her, but her lover as well. Dr. Girlfriend replies to this accusation in a very sarcastic way “No Duh.” Another Council member tells her that she wasn’t satisfied. [Cuts to the Monarch replying to this statement] The Monarch openly admits to this and rebuts that they must know that he wouldn’t tolerate working for Phantom Limb all his life. A Council member states that they expected him to go through the appropriate channels in training before becoming a full pledged Villain. Another Council member states that he was not to make his costume out of leggings and cardboard and then to immediately go after Dr. Venture. But the Monarch passionately states that Dr. Venture” had it coming”. Another Council member asks him why he started attacking Dr. Venture on the first place, and that there sources say that the Monarch started attacking him during their college years. The Monarch wants “hurry it up” and asks them to “roll the clip”. But a Council member tells him that they do not have any visual records of the Monarch’s time in college. The Monarch is surprised at this and is happy that he won’t have to sit through these clips and remember all the pain it caused him. The Council members said that they don’t have visual records from that time period. Nor do they have a magic window or anything like that to help view such events into the past, another Council member said. The Monarch tells them he understands this. So a Council member asks him if he could at least tell them about the time he was in college when he met Dr. Venture. The Monarch proceeds to tell story of what happened to him college via flashbacks.
The Scene cuts to a flashback to when the Monarch was in college. The Monarch was a lean red-headed punk wearing jeans, a white shirt and a leather jacket.
While he was leaning on a tree waiting for his first attempt to kill Dr. Venture, a loud explosion is seen in the background. The Monarch rejoices, but suddenly a teen, presumably an accomplice of his, comes stumbling by with bad news. The Monarch excited asks him if Dr. Venture is dead. Instead of this, the teen tells him that instead of Dr. Venture being blown up, Dr. Venture put the beaker, the tool the Monarch used to try to kill Dr. Venture with, next to Baron Ünderbheit’s face. The Monarch screams in agony and beats up his accomplice to the ground. It was a disappointment, as he describes this. And that this first time attempt to destroy Dr. Venture was an admitted failure. As a disastrous extra, the Monarch says that Dr. Venture received full blame for what happened in the Lab and what happened to Ünderbheit’s face. The Monarch continues to describe the events that happened back then, and tells the Council that Dr. Venture left school because his father had recently died. The Monarch interrupts this flashback sequence to ask the Council if they knew who had killed Dr. Venture’s father. A Council member tells him that the Council members are the ones who ask the questions and not him. So they ask him to continue the story.
Now in another flashback, the Monarch describes his current stage of crime as being in its “pupal” stage. We are now taken to the Venture estate for the Monarch’s second attempt to kill Dr. Venture. The Monarch is now dressed as a Monarch butterfly for the first time. Including his car, suped up to look the theme. The Monarch is now in his car putting on his costume and turning the car on. All raged up, the Monarch proceeds to get inside the Venture estate via running over the fence, the main entrance, the hall way and then to the lab. He gets to the lab and we see Dr. Venture alongside Myra Brandish and H.E.L.P.eR. working on one of his experiments. The Monarch gets out of his car and starts shouting at Dr. Venture all out of breath and introducing himself while running on pure adrenalin. Along comes Myra and H.E.L.P.eR to beat him up, while Dr. Venture continues his work. [The flash back ends] While describing this, the Monarch greatly exaggerates being beaten up, he say he was attacked by a “private army of ex navy seals cyborg ninja witches” and they had “a tank”.
Back to present time, the Council confronts him with accusations of “arching” Dr. Venture without a Guild License nor consent of the Guild. The Monarch replies to this by saying he hadn’t even heard of the guild back then. A Council member tells him that they have several pages of complaints signed by Dr. Venture made after the Monarch had joined the guild. [Cuts back to Dr. Girlfriend, replying to the statements said by the previous Council member.] Dr. Girlfriend cannot believe what she just heard, that the Monarch was arching Dr. Venture during when he henching for the Phantom Limb. A Council member corrects her and shows her that it wasn’t just henching for the Phantom Limb, but other major guild villains including “Sea Anemone”, “Helicoptro”, and even “Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Nightmare Coat”. The same Council member states that the Monarch, by his own admission, created the “Monarch” persona just to menace Dr. Venture. [Cuts back to the Monarch and replies to these accusations.] The Monarch tells the Council to get back to subject, the subject being Phantom Limb. The Council tells him that they’ll get back to the traitor afterwards, and that the Council had assembled this tribunal/interrogation/inquiry/trial/crucible to determine the fate of the Monarch. The Monarch can’t believe that they’d interrupt his honeymoon for that reason. [Cuts back to Dr. Girlfriend] Dr. Girlfriend tells the Council members that she did what they asked her to do and also she “made the Monarch to stop arching Dr. Venture”. She then asked the Council if he [the Monarch] had suffered enough. The Council tells her that he hasn’t even begun his suffering and that according to the Council, there is no “Monarch”.
Back at the wreckage of the flying cocoon fortress, the Moppets are hard at work forcing the Monarch’s henchmen to fix the cocoon, and inside the cocoon Numbers 21 & 24 find the Monarch’s old Monarch Mobile (featured in a flashback of this episode). Number 24 can’t believe that they always had a backup car and couldn’t even use it. He complains that he had to use his father’s old “Stanza”. In which Number 21 notices number 24’s old Stanza in a corner and points him to it. Number 24 becomes disappointed over the wreckage of his father’s old car and tells Number 21 that his father is going to kill him when he finds out its wrecked. As Number 24 explains he never finished paying for it. At that time, a moppet with a megaphone, Kevin, yells at Numbers 21 & 24 to get back to work. To which both Numbers 21 & 24 ask him for forgiveness. The moppet leaves and Number 24 tells Number 21 that he can’t believe that those little ”Midgetlers” are expecting them to rebuild the entire cocoon. Number 21 tries to come up with a plan to get rid of them, telling Number 24 that maybe someone they know could take care of the moppets. Number 24, a bit skeptical, ask Number 21 to continue. Number 21 insinuates that is has to be someone they know that has single handily defeated everyone they know, a killing machine. Just then, we see Brock inside his car and his watch beeping off. (But we do not see his face.)
Back inside the Council meeting, the Council members have determined that the so-called “Monarch” is in violation of the Guild’s primarily law of organized villainy and is sentenced to a “painful execution”. The Council member then go on to ask the Monarch what he says in defense. The Monarch calls them “dicks” as a formal reply to the Council’s ruling. [Cuts to Dr. Girlfriend, same statement made to the Monarch by the Council] Dr. Girlfriend calls this judgment nonsense and that it isn’t her fault. The Council members tell her that it is for them to determine and to decide. Dr. Girlfriend asks the Council members if they are going to allow her to defend him. They say they will and that the Guild allows rebuttals. [Cut back to the Monarch, replying over the news that he will get a chance to defend himself.] The Monarch becomes overconfident that he believes he will successful in his trial, and asks the Council members if they could give him all the “embarrassing magical” video of him they have. The Council lets him borrow all the video recordings he wants. The Monarch first asks them for the video of him with Dr. Girlfriend when they made love for the first time. The Council members don’t seem too enthusiastic about it, but the Monarch assures them that there is more to it than sexual prowess in it.
The video starts off with a Phantom Limb henchman (Shadowman 24 who presumably becomes Monarch henchmen Number 24) looking for Shadowman 9 (The Monarch), and discovers him dressing up as the Monarch. Shadowman 24 is a bit surprised at this and is about to ask him if he’s ?, but the Monarch interrupts him and tells him in a excited way that he is the “Monarch”, and so he asks Shadowman 24 if he’s ever heard of him before. To which Shadowman 24 replies that he hasn’t. The Monarch explains to Shadowman 24 that he’s the hot new villain who is arching Dr. Venture. Shadowman 24 thought that Dr. Venture was dead, but he was actually thinking of Dr. Venture Sr. and so the Monarch corrects him on this and explains that he’s arching Dr. Venture’s son. Shadowman 24 changes subject and tells the Monarch that the Phantom Limb is hosting a ball tonight and that Shadowman 9 is on duty for the event, and furthermore the Monarch cannot arch Dr. Venture that tonight. But the Monarch replies to him that he isn’t going to arch Dr. Venture tonight, but is going to the Guild Ball as “The Monarch” for other reasons. Shadowman 24 warns the Monarch that several of the Guild’s finest are going to attend this ball that night, and that even Shadowman 24 himself might have to kill him by orders of the Guild officials. Shadowman 24 tells him this so that the Monarch won’t arch at the ball. But the Monarch tells him that he’s not going to be arching, but is going for “love”, and that he’s going to take what is rightfully his. Shadowman 24 is doubtful that the Monarch is going to achieve his goal in winning Dr. Girlfriend’s love. The Monarch offers Shadowman 24 a “number 2 position” if he wears his “Shadowman 9” costume for the night. Shadowman 24 asks him if the offer is true. The Monarch tells him that it is, and that he is only waiting for some trust fund money to come in so he can become a full pledged Guild Villain.
The surveillance video ends, the Monarch asks the Council if they understood what they just saw. The Council doesn’t seem to not know what the Monarch is referring to. The Monarch explains to them that since the Council thinks that he only wears that Monarch costume to arch Dr. Venture, but the video proves otherwise. The Council seems to get his point. [Cuts back to Dr. Girlfriend] Disagreeing with something, she asks the Council to fast-forward to the part she was referring to and to play the rest of the video. The Council believes it to be a bit compromising to go to the part of the video they thought she was referring to. Dr. Girlfriend asks them to “just play it”, and that there is a good reason she’s asking them to play it. One of the Council members menacingly tells her that “there’d better be” a good reason, and proceeds to play the clip.
The video continues at the Guild ball located inside the Phantom Limb’s estate. Several super villains are attending. A few recognizable faces we know of, a few we do not know are visible. We see the Monarch talking to Truckules and Dr. Girlfriends, who is in her “Queen Etherea” persona. The Monarch talks to them about a confrontation he once had with a character/hero presumably named “Captain Sunshine”, who now thinks that the Monarch is indestructible for some reason or another. Both Truckules and Queen Etherea (Dr. Girlfriend, who doesn’t know it’s actually one of the Phantom Limb’s henchmen) seem very interested and impressed by his story. Truckules has to leave them to get another drink, leaving the two alone to talk. The Monarch ask her if she’s still “Number twoing” for Phantom Limb, to which she replies that she is, but she doesn’t even consider it to be actual “Number twoing”, because the only thing she does is wear a “skimpy” dress and stand around doing nothing. The Monarch compliments her looks and tells her that he cannot believe that the Phantom Limb is mistreating her in that way, because he thinks that she is the most capable super villain in the entire room, and so he tells her this. The Monarch asks her if she wants to step out with for a while. He tells her that the smell of diesel exhaust is making him sick. But she looks a bit preoccupied and looks towards the Phantom Limb.
Outside the Ball, in the parking lot, Inside the Monarch’s car, where it is apparent The Monarch and Queen Etherea (Dr. Girlfriend) just made love inside, the two are exhausted over what they just did. The Monarch comments on how incredible it was. While later Queen Etherea mentions to him that the word “monarch” doesn’t have to only mean the butterfly, but could intentionally use the double meaning. The Monarch agrees and likes the idea and writes it down on his window, which is fogged up. (He writes down “Monarch = King”.) Queen Etherea furthermore gives him the idea to use a crown, and instead of a cape she suggests using wings. The Monarch asks her if the wings could actually work, if you could actually fly with them. Queen Etherea volunteers to design fully functional wings. The Monarch is delightfully shocked that she’d do that for him. Queen Etherea says she will do this for him if he promises to get a bigger back seat. The Monarch assumes it’s for a more intimate reason, but Queen Etherea insist it’s for their future henchmen. The Monarch and Queen Etherea snuggle and cuddle a bit, but the Monarch wants to reveal something to her before they make their union official. He proceeds to take off his helmet. Queen Etherea notices his freakishly long eyebrows and tells him that she could take care of those. But that isn’t what he Monarch was going to tell her. Just when he was about to reveal his status as a Shadowman to her, all of the sudden a Phantom Limb’s Shadowman attacks him.
Shadowman 3 breaks through the car window and drags the Monarch out. The Monarch arrives and tells Sheila (Dr. Girlfriend’s presumed real name) to clean herself up and to go upstairs, that his guests have been asking questions about her, and that he’ll discuss this with her when he takes care of the man she was with (the Monarch). Queen Etherea refuses to go back to the party and ever come back to him. She tells that she’s going to stay with the... (Presumably the Council of Thirteen (in the flashback) interrupts her when she is about to say the “Monarch”.) One of the Council members asks the Phantom Limb if there’s any problem. The Phantom Limb falls to peer pressure and casually tell the Council that he is merely saying goodbye to his esteemed guests, which is a total fabrication, but nonetheless he opens the door for the Monarch and lets him and Queen Etherea go off free. But before this happened, the Monarch tells the Council that he’s going to give Queen Etherea a ride, to ensure they both get out together. The Council understands and tells them to be quick about leaving. The Council leaves and the Monarch taunts the Phantom Limb. The Phantom Limb asks for the Monarchs name, to which the Monarch almost tells him his name but instead he calls himself “The Mighty Manotaur”. The Phantom Limb gives him a warning, and officially puts him inside his “fucked” list. As the Phantom Limb leaves The Monarch tries to play the threat of cool, inventing things a ”Mighty Manotaur” would have, like a “malevolent murderous maze”. Just before the Monarch and the formal Queen Etherea leave, Shadowman 9 begs the Monarch to let him go with them. But Queen Etherea tells the Monarch that Number 9 is the henchmen she was talking about earlier, the one who constantly looks and stares at her. The Monarchs asks Shadowman 9 for forgiveness and then they both leave.
The surveillance tape ends, and the Monarch and the Council complain over the Council changing a few details of the video, like the music that was playing. The Council members say that they couldn’t afford the rights to some of the music.
[Cuts back to Dr. Girlfriend.] Dr. Girlfriend argues that it proves that the Phantom Limb was so incompetent that he couldn’t even notice the Monarch was his own henchmen, or when he finally met the Monarch in other occasions he didn’t put the pieces together, namely the Monarch joining up with herself. The Council reluctantly agrees. Dr. Girlfriend further argues that the Phantom Limb is responsible for all the wrongdoing accused of the Monarch, and that he, the Phantom Limb, has hid the Monarch’s solicited activities from the Guild. Dr. Girlfriend then states that the Monarch is innocent of everything but ignorance.
The Council seemingly concludes, the rooms' color disappear and the screens are turned off, and the wall separating the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend open. The Monarch says to his wife he thinks he’s going to be dipped in lava. Dr. Girlfriend tells him that she’s sorry. The Monarch says to her that that’s what she should have told him in the escape pod during their honeymoon. Just at that moment the image of the Sovereign, whom the Monarch whispers to Dr. Girlfriend is “David Bowie”, tells them that the Council of Thirteen have made their decision.
Meanwhile, back at the cocoon construction site, Brock is seen talking to the Moppets, while Numbers 21 & 24 are spying on them and are worried since it seems that the moppets and Brock are coming to a verbal agreement. When they stop spying on Brock and the Moppets to converse about Brock’s current actions, one of the moppets, Tim-Tom, comes out from behind and puts a knife to Number 24’s neck. The moppet asks Number 21 if he’s the one who called for “back up”. Number 21 denies it and puts all the blame to Number 24. The Moppet tells Number 24 that it was a good idea and invites him to call in more of his friends, all the while holding a knife to his head.
Now at the construction site, a number of well known super villains are seen marching down the mountain to lend a hand in the reconstruction of the cocoon. Super villains such as Truckules and other well known Guild members.
Meanwhile, back inside the undisclosed Guild hideout, a group of Guild operatives known as Strangers surrounds The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend. Watch and Ward blindfold them and take off their clothes, sans undergarments. The Sovereign commands them and tells them that they have been tested in mutual combat against their slaughter bots and have proved their romantic and professional compatibilities, and furthermore they had even proved the Monarch’s innocence. The Sovereign announces that their trial is finally over. He asks them to join hands, Watch comes in with a red snake, and ties it to the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend’s hands. The Sovereign tells them that he Guild approves of the application for dualship and so he pronounces them Villain and Villainess. The Monarch takes his blindfold off, followed by Dr. Girlfriend taking off hers. They both seem really surprised of this. The Sovereign tells the Monarch that he may now kiss his queen. The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend kiss and all the Strangers applaud them.
Back at the cocoon construction site, the Murderous Moppets christen the newly rebuilt cocoon fortress, followed by cheers of hurrah from all the Monarch Henchmen, and all the other Guild members that helped them out. Number 21 extends his hand in approval and so one of the Moppets, Kevin, shakes his hand. While two other henchmen behind the Moppets soak both Moppets with what appeared to be a barrel full of Gatorade. The Moppet become extremely angry and starts stabbing the two henchmen who soaked them. (Presumably, the Henchmen who got stabbed the most was Number 24 because of his voice resemblance to him).
Back at the ceremony at the undisclosed Guild Location, the Sovereign tells the newly unified couple that they must first complete their first mission together.
Back at the Phantom Limb’s estate, the newly rebuilt cocoon is seen hover towards this estate in an attack mode. The Monarch barges in with his henchmen and, being lost in the moment, orders them to kill everyone in sight and not to take any prisoners and show no mercy. Dr. Girlfriend walks in and calls the Monarch. The Monarch, still lost in the moment, asks her “What!?” in a sort of rude way. Not realizing this until it was too late; Dr. Girlfriend asks him “Excuse me”. The Monarch asks for forgiveness and caries her into the house telling her “Welcome home”. But just after that, the Monarch’s wings suddenly deploy and Dr. Girlfriend finds this “great” in a sarcastic manner. The Monarch says that Dr. Girlfriend had deployed his wings with her “ass” accidentally.
[END CREDITS]
After the exit credits, a man walks into a door and slams the door behind him. The man is a bit old and well built. From out of the shadows, a man who we can see is the Phantom Limb, but who now has a robotic arm and other presumably prosthetic limbs. He also is now using a cane to walk. The Phantom Limb asks this man if he has forgotten of him. To which the old man replies that he’s retired from “all the villainy crap”. But the Phantom Limb tells him that “no one retires from the Phantom Limb’s fucked list”. The old man opens his closet door to search for his costume, but the Phantom Limb then asks him if he was searching for what he was holding, which was a mask with bull horns. The Phantom Limb continues to taunt and then we realize this man is actually the one called “The Manotaur”. The Phantom Limb with his remaining invisible hand starts to reach for the old man using his super powers. Then “end credits” finish (It’s assumed that the Phantom Limb had his way).
