Live Performances, Week 2 - Recap

The LIVE shows continue and this time it is Team Adam and Cee-Lo against each other. For Christina and Blake, it is a time to relax and watch. Carson Daily recaps the week before what the other teams did and how four went home. A contract from Universal Public Records is up for grabs for the winner of The Voice. Adam says that it was evident that they have their work cut out for his team and says that they have to be the best. Cee-Lo says that he is trying to encourage their own individuality for his team. Christina says that she feels confident on her picks. Blake says that he is dressed down because he doesn’t give a crap for their team. They

Katrina Parker is up first for Team Adam and she says that she wants to work on her confidence. She is going to be singing “Tonight, Tonight” by the Smashing Pumpkins. In rehearsals Adam works with her and she says that she wants to make this happen. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Christina says that she captivated her with her voice. She wanted more rocking in it, but overall she did a good job. Cee-Lo says that it was a commendable effort and says that the song choice was not good. Adam says that the song sounded theatrical with her singing it and says that he appreciated the song from her and says that she killed it.

Next up for Cee-Lo is Chessa. She says that she wants to make the right choices and gets into rehearsals. Cee-Lo says that he is pissed by the way people were talking about her on Twitter. She is going to sing “Don’t Leave Me This Way” by Thelma Lewis. She says that she needs to prove her place in the competition. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Blake says that he loved that and says that it was like watching Solid Gold. Adam says that it was all Cee-Lo and says that it was a great performance and says that the competition is crazy. Cee-Lo says that he thought that it was wonderful and says that she had a fun time on the stage and believes that it was a success.

Tony Lucca is next up for Team Adam. He says that he was in the Mickey Mouse Club and he played in pubs after the show. He gets in the rehearsals and says that he is singing “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel. Adam says that he has to get over that Falsetto and it will be great. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Christina says that she thought that it was a good performance, but only sees him one-dimensional. He says that there are better voices then his. Adam says that was honest. He says that the song, for him, is delicate. Adam says that he is proud of him and sang a song from the collection of songs that are hard to beat. He says that he did a good job.

Next up is Kim Yarbrough from Team Adam. She says that she has been a struggling artist and says that she can be accepted. She gets in rehearsals and she suggests that she sings “Rolling In The Deep” by Adele. He thinks that it is a hard song and she says that she is going to sing it like it is the last time she draws breath. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Blake says that it was better as it went along, but it was a little sharp. Cee-Lo says that he should have steered her away from the song and says that he didn’t love it. Adam says that he wants to say the right words for her and says that there were some problems. It is hard for people to sing her songs. She says that this shows the potential in her singing.

James Massone is up next for Team Cee-Lo. He says that he needed to be confident in the battle rounds and working with Cee-Lo will help him. He is going to sing “Don’t Know Why” by Nora Jones. He says that James will have some flare with his ladies man reputation. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Blake says that he almost threw his panties on the stage. Christina says that she liked the subtle side of him. She says that there were some pitch problems. Cee-Lo says that it was so cool and calm. He says that he is solid, but maybe he got a little distracted by the ladies. He says that he thinks that they are going to push him through.

Up next is Juliet Simms from Team Cee-Lo and she says that this is a great opportunity for her since she has had 5 record deals that fell through. She is going to sing “Roxanne” by The Police. Cee-Lo says that her voice is Classic Rock and she he likes what he hears. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Adam says that he is pissed off because he really wanted her on his team and regrets every second of it and says that she is the best performance so far. Christina says that she was into it and says that her voice is dope and says that she is jealous. Blake says that is the first time he heard her voice and says that it was so good. Cee-Lo says that wow and says that she did an amazing job. He says that she doesn’t need anything, but her voice.

Mathai from Team Adam is next and she says that she is supposed to sing. She gets into the rehearsals and is going to be singing “Ordinary People” by John Legend. Adam says that she is going to have to sing it with all her emotions. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Christina says that she likes her voice and has interesting things. It was a little loungey, but she enjoyed it. Blake says that she loves the confidence that she gives out. Adam says that she is magical and says that is what he responds to. He says that she can sing anything and says that he is happy.

Next up is Tony Vincent from Team Cee-Lo. He says that he had a career in Broadway, but wants to have a solo career. He says that his wife had the baby and says that he is proud. He says that he wants to sing “Everyone Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears. He comes out on stage and sings. Afterward, Blake says that he thinks that it was a good performance, but he was distracted by the staging. Christina says that he loved the production of it, but there were a lot of vocal restraints. Cee-Lo says that he wanted to hear more from him, but says that he wanted to express him more with the production of it and says that he felt that he is better then that.

Karla Davis from Team Adam and she is trying to show that she has a powerful voice. She gets into rehearsals and wants to sing “Airplanes” by B.o.B. Adam says that he needs to hear Bertha come out and she works hard to get it. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Christina says that she was surprised by the song choice, but she did a good job. Blake says that she did as good as she did with the song and says that the song was a rapid fire lyric. Adam says that he thinks that it was a little bad and says that she could have done better. He says that it was a tough song.

Up next is Erin Martin from Team Cee-Lo. She says that her voice is an acquired taste. In rehearsals, Cee-Lo says that she has a lot of naysayers to impress and she says that she is singing “Walk Like and Egyptian” by The Bangels. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Blake says that there they go again with the male strippers. He says that vocally, it is the best it could be. Adam says that Blake just bought a ticket to boner town. Christina says that she didn’t bring it as hard as she could have. She wanted more aggression. Cee-Lo says that the stage was a little distraction for her and says that the song is not easy, but wanted more attitude.

Pip from Team Adam is up next. He says that he was in musical theater and says that in the battle rounds, he showed his versatility. He is going to sing “When You Were Young” by The Killers. He wants to show that he can perform the rocks songs. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Christina says that she appreciates the vocal ability, but came off as if trying too hard. Adam says that this was an “interesting” choice and says that he surprised people, but wanted him to be more dangerous with the song. The intent needs to be more grittier.

Last up for the night is Jamar Rogers from Team Cee-Lo. He says that “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz. He says he is going to go out and have fun. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Blake says that he doesn’t get the stilts and says that it was distracting. Cee-Lo asks if he feels the energy and says that he is a winner. Adam says that forget about teams and says that this moment proves that he embodied what this show means. That is it for Team Cee-Lo and Team Adam. Results Night tomorrow.
