The episode begins with Merle leading a band of armed men through the woods. They are in pursuit of Michonne. They come across mutilated body parts that spell out "Go back", with the "back" being an actual walker back. Merle laughs, calling it a "biter-gram". He also identifies it as the work of Michonne, warning them to stop following her. Just then, she leaps from a tree and decapitates or stabs all three of Merle's companions. Rick on the other hand picks up an old phone in the prison and hears a voice, much to his surprise. "I can't believe someone picked up" the female voice says, on the other end. "We've been calling since it started" the woman adds. ..

Episode Quotes
Amy: (on the phone) Hello, is someone there?
Rick: Yes...who is this?
Amy: Oh my god, I can't believe someone picked up. We've been calling since...since it all started.
Rick: Where are you?
Amy: I can't say.
Rick: You could be a thousand miles away.
Amy: I'm not going to say where we are.
Rick: Are you...are you some place safe?
Amy: Yeah, and part of it is because we're careful. I can't tell you where we are, I'm sorry.
Rick: What makes your place so safe?
Amy: It's just...away. From them.

Rick: (on the phone) I want to come where you are.
Jim: It could be dangerous. Have you killed anyone?
Rick: ...Yes. The people who threatened me, who threatened my group.
Jim: How many people have you killed?
Rick: ...Four. Two outsiders who tried to draw on me, one threw me to walkers, the other one? He was one of our own. He lost it.
Jim: Lost what?
Rick: Who he was. He threatened me, tried to kill me, so I killed him.
Jim: How'd you lose your wife?
Rick: How do you know I had a wife?
Jim: You have a boy and a baby. Tell me how you lost your wife.
Rick: I don't...I don't want to talk about that.

Hershel: She was sorry for the things that happened. She told me that, she was planning on telling you. Take your time, whatever you need. You carried us, you didn't let us give up, you got us here.
Rick: It's not enough. It's not safe enough.
Hershel: There isn't anywhere else. I know you want to get away from this, but we've run already.

Daryl: You know my mom...she liked the wine. She liked to smoke in bed, Virginia Slims. I was playing out with kids in the neighbourhood, I could do that with Merle gone. They had bikes, I didn't. We heard sirens getting louder, and they jumped on the bikes, ran after it, you know? Hoping to see something worth seeing. I ran after them but I couldn't keep up. I went around the corner and saw my friends looking at me, hell, I saw everyone looking at me. Fire trucks everywhere, people from the neighbourhood. it was my house they were there for, and it was my mom in bed, burnt down to nothing. That was the hard part, you know, she was just gone. Erased. Nothing left of her. People said it was better that way, huh, I don't know. Just made it seem like it wasn't real, ya know?
Carl: I shot my mom. She was out, hadn't turned yet. I ended it. It was real. Sorry about your mom.
Daryl: Sorry about yours.

Jacqui: (on the phone) You didn't want to tell him how your wife died?
Rick: No I just lost her, but if that's what it takes.
Jacqui: It'd do good, you should talk about it Rick.
Rick: That do you know my name?
