While he talks, we see cut scenes of where the last episode ended. It’s him outside the prison aiming his pistol at Michonne. He pistol whips Michonne and takes Hershel prisoner. He continues his speech by telling the people that it’s possible to take the prison without killing anyone. Part of his speech explains that not everyone in the prison are bad, but that some are. : The governor is hand washing laundry while Megan stares at a chessboard. The scene has cuts of them being pulled out of the pit by Martinez. At the board, The Governor explains that letting her win wouldn't really be her winning. He mentions that his dad never let him win either. This leads her to ask if his dad was mean, and then if he, The Governor, was bad. He tells her that the answer to both questions is "Sometimes." Megan thinks about it, then has a moment where she gets sad because her dad was always mean. The Governor, now Brian, is worried and reassures her that it was not her fault, and that she is good. : In separate scenes alternating back and forth, we have Rick bandaging his hand, and Carol talking to Lizzie through the glass at the quarantine. Carol tells Lizzie that she's going on a run with Rick, and that Lizzie needs to be strong. Lizzie tells Carol that nobody has died "yet". She talks about how becoming a walker is part of the change of life. And how it's the same as being small and growing bigger. Rick through the conversation, preps for the trip, filling a van's gas tank, and looking around cell bock A. Carol stresses that Lizzie needs to put her life and the life of her sister over everything else. Lizzie insists that she isn't weak, but has her shirt over her knife. Carol corrects it so that she can get to it faster. Lizzie slips and calls Carol "mom", Carol corrects her quickly, even during Lizzie's apology. Lizzie tells Carol that she's not afraid to kill, she's just afraid.
