The Wendy Williams Show is a talk show and variety show starring radio host Wendy Williams. It is produced by Debmar-Mercury and airs on FOX owned and operated stations. After a test run during the summer of 2008 on the FOX Owned and Operated stations, and a short broadcast in the summer of 2009, also on the FOX Owned and Operated stations, it was picked up for a full year during the fall of 2009. At this time, it was also picked up for first run syndication and airs during late night programming on BET. During the fall of 2012, The Wendy Williams Show debut with High Definition.
The Wendy Williams Show changes stages each year. Among the features, are disco balls, leopard print furniture, and gigantic plush W's. Many interview programs contain an outdoor backdrop, giving a look and feel of a certain time of day, the same time that it airs. Kelly Ripa's show has a "day time" backdrop since it is a morning program, while Jay Leno's show has a "night time" backdrop because it is a late night program. The stage for The Wendy Williams Show contains no outdoor backdrop and can be syndicated at any time of day.
Wendy does not hesitate to say what is on her mind. She is impartial, open-minded, and not your average celebrity reporter. Other segements is Hot Topics, which is a celebrity report. Another segment is Ask Wendy, where she gives advice to members of the studio audience.
