Recap

Secret Service agent Vance Markham cautiously enters a circus warehouse and looks around. The lights come up, revealing a chuckling man dressed as a magician seated in a throne. Markham draws a gun and prepares to shoot him, but the man in the throne calls to Julio... a ventriloquist dummy belonging to Villar. Villar knows that Markham is a Secret Service agent as does the magician. The light on Villar fades out and then comes up on Tony, a man with a knife. Tony figures that the agent is Jim West, but the magician knows better. The next light comes up on Miranda, who whips the gun out of Markham’s hand...

Episode Quotes
Villar: (through his dummy Julio) Golly golly golly. What's Mr. Markham going to do now?
Count Carlos Manzeppi: Well, what can he do now, Julio? Nothing. Except die.

Count Carlos Manzeppi: Allow me to present myself. I am the Count Mario Vincenzo Robespierre Manzeppi, adventurer, poet, and lover of all that is corrupt, forbidden, and blasphemous.
James: Charmed, I'm sure.

James: Well, I'm flattered. Are you asking me to join your group?
Count Carlos Manzeppi: Why not? You have much to offer us. Oh, a certain flair for assassination. A charming capacity to overcome odds. In short, style. We can use you.
James: You'll, uh, you'll turn my head, Count.

Count Carlos Manzeppi: Mr. West! You have succeeded in making me lose my temper!
James: Is that bad?
Count Carlos Manzeppi: For you it will be highly traumatic.

Count Carlos Manzeppi: Now you are in the cradle of Limbo. Suspended halfway betwixt Elysium and Hades.
James: Oh. I always did want to get away from it all.

Count Carlos Manzeppi: Oh, I wish I could stay and watch, but unfortunately the smell of scorched people disagrees with me.

(after shooting a man)
Deadeye: Fall down, Tony… you're dead.

Artemus: If I make a small suggestion… you're a Count. Count.

Count Carlos Manzeppi: Act one to you, Mr. West. But when the mists rise and the sudden silences fall… look for me.

Episode Goofs
When Jim is up on the stage and kicks Deadeye, he roundhouse kicks him very lightly, and striking right to left. However, Deadeye goes flying as if struck with considerable force, to the right opposite the direction of the blow.

When Tony throws his knives at Jim in a demonstration, in the Eccentrics' HQ, he hits the wall over Jim's left shoulder. But when Jim runs to grab a knife a minute later, the knives are now over his right shoulder.

Manzeppi claims he studied the works of Van Der Graff to make his electrical field. However, Van Der Graff wasn't born until 1901.
