In the opening sequence, but also later in the mine cart, it's clear that Robert Conrad is wrestling with dummy wolves.

When the camera goes to a shot of the tunnel entrance to Talamantes' lair, a fake spider is obviously pulled across a spider web. Its legs don't move.
