Recap

Jim is riding after Dr. Raker, who is heading toward Angel’s Gap. Raker finally gets off his horse, grabs a case from off of his saddle, and runs into the woods. He then opens the case, revealing a miniature rocket launcher which he aims at the approaching Jim. Finally Raker takes the string attached to the rockets’ triggers and strings it across the road before riding off. Jim arrives and his horse hits the wire, and he hits the ground as the missiles fire overhead. Raker assumes that he’s dead, briefly checks on a toxic vial he’s carrying in a small case, and rides off. Meanwhile, Jim recovers and continues his pursuit...

Episode Quotes
Dr. Raker: And if I don’t hand it over you would shoot me, just like that?
James: What do you think?
Dr. Raker: I don’t think you would.
James: Try me.
Dr. Raker: I can’t believe that you have the talent for killing in cold blood. But, uh, you are a creature of surprises and contradictions, West, and I do want to live.

James: He’s dead?
Town Doctor: Man stops breathing, his heart don’t beat, that’s generally what we call it around here.
