Episode Notes
Corner slides:
Lower Right: Artie with a drugged dart in his neck.
Upper Right: Jim confirms that Artie is dead!
Upper Left: Artie tells Roper who is in command of the fort.
Lower Left: Jim gets up for stew.

This episode was completed before Ross Martin's heart attack and absence from the show, but was held back. Most of the footage features Ross Martin before the attack.

However, the coda at the end was filmed after his heart attack, just before the episode aired. Both actors have noticeably different haircuts, and Martin is much thinner due to weight loss from his hospitalization.

Episode Quotes
James: Did I hear big mouth correctly?
Artemus: Yeah. They're going to hang you and take me with 'em. No hard feelings, Jim.
James: I resent that.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks, Artie"? Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.
