Deep Throat directs Mulder to a crime scene where police are looking for a suspect who evaded capture and jumped into the river near an industrial area. Finding that evidence has been covered up, Mulder and Scully question a doctor whose car the suspect had driven on a high-speed chase with police. Later, the doctor is murdered by a man who was investigating the crime scene at the behest of an unknown agency.
