German to English
20th Century Fox does not translate the German spoken by Gerry Schnauz, instead simply putting the words [Speaking German] in the subtitles. What he says and what it translates to is as follows:
When talking to his second victim:
Unruhe. Hab keine Angst. Ich wehre dir hilfen. Du willst deine Unruhe bald vergessen. Deine Unruhe vergessen.
Translation:
Unrest. Have no fear. I refuse your help. You will soon forget your unrest. You'll forget your unrest.
When he gives his victim a dress:
Daß is für dich. Es is wie daß daß sie getragen. (As he puts a new piece of tape over her mouth). Hab leise. Sehr bald.
Translation:
That is for you. It is what she would have worn. You'll be at peace. Very soon.
When talking to Scully:
Es ist alles ist in Ordnung. Ich wehre dir hilfen. Du willst deine Unruhe bald vergessen.
It is all in order. I refuse your help. You will soon forget your unrest. |

Mulder: Yeah, but why would she stab her boyfriend through the ear? The magic was gone? |

Episode Goofs |
| |
When Mulder was helping Scully out of the dentist's chair, the duct tape that was holding her legs disappeared. | Mulder and Scully both mispronounce the word Unruhe. Mulder pronouces the first 'u' as the English short 'u', but in German the 'u' is always pronounced like the English long 'u'. When Scully says the word the first time to Schnauz, she pronounces the 'e' like an English double 'e'. She will later pronounce it correctly when she is being held hostage by Schnauz. |
