Series 9 - Boot Camp 3 - Recap

The Boys: James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas, Nathan Fagle-Gayle, Adam Burridge, Rylan Clarke and Jake Quickenden, The Girls: Ella Henderson, Amy Mottram, Jade Collins, Lucy Spraggan, Leanne Robinson and Jade Ellis, The Over28s: Kye Sones, Melanie Masson, Nicola Marie, Brad Shackleton, Carolynne Poole and Christopher Maloney and The Groups: “Mitsotu”, “Duke”, “MK1”, “Poisonous Twin” and “Rough Copy” and “GMD3” are ready to show the judges that they have what it takes. The Girls find out that they are going to St. Lucia, The Boys find out that they are going to Dubai, The Groups have a switch because “Rough Copy” had to drop out. So “Times Red” is back along with a newly formed “Union J”. They are told that they are going to Vegas. The Over28s are told that they are going to stay in Great Britain.

The Girls arrive in St. Lucia and they find out that their mentor is Tulisa. They are happy to have her. She tells them that Tinie Tempah is there to help her decide which 3 are going to get through. The Groups land in Vegas and find out that their mentor is Louis. They scream and chant his name. He tells them that he has only 3 spots and to help him with that, he has Sharon Osbourne. They are happy. In Dubai, the Boys find out that their mentor is Nicole. She tells them that only 3 boys are going through to the next round and to help her is Ne-Yo. Lastly, the Over 28s are in Great Britain in Gary’s House find out that Gary is their judge. He says that he wants to see that amazing talent. He says that Cheryl Cole is there to help him decide who stays and who goes.

Back in Vegas, the Groups are performing first. Louis says that “Rough Copy” had to drop out, but he is happy with the 2 additions. The first band attempting to impress is “Times Red”. They say that this has been a great thing and have been practicing a lot. They perform and afterward, Louis says that they look good and harmonies are good. However, there is a lot of work to find who they are.

“Mitsotu” comes out next and they say that they want to show all that they have. They always wanted this. They sing and afterward, Louis says that they like them, but is not sure who the lead singer is.

“MK1” is up next and one of the band members has a broken leg. He says that it was a football injury. They perform and afterward, Sharon says that they are great together and have a lovely amount of confidence.

“Union J” (Formerly “Triple J”) are next and they have added George Shelly and have formed the new group. They are ready to show that they have what it takes. They perform and afterward, Sharon says that there are a few bad habits.

“Poisonous Twin” come out they say that Vegas is a dream this could be a great thing. They perform and afterward, Sharon asks if he is ready to put in so much work with them to try to get a good sound out of it.

“Duke” comes out and they want them to understand their sound and how they are different than other bands. They perform and afterward, Louis says that they are very unique.

“GMD3” is last up for Louis’s and they say that they are great friends. They are confident in themselves and come out and perform. Afterward, Sharon says that you can tell that they are working hard. Louis has no clue which he is going to pick. Sharon helps him decide and they come up with a decision.

In Dubai, Nicole and Ne-Yo take their seats to judge the singing. First up is James Arthur. He says that he had self doubt and this is a big deal for him. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Ne-Yo says that there is a real pain there. Nicole says that there is something with his voice.

Next up is Nathan Fagen-Gaule. He says that he has failed time and time again and wants this more than anything. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Ne-Yo says that his cockiness was a little off. Nicole likes his tone.

Adam Burridge is next and he says that he has wanted to be a musician all his life. He needs this and doesn’t want to go back to his day job. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Nicole says that was the best audition from his. Ne-Yo says that he has a great tone.

Jake Quickenden is up next and he found out that his brother has something bad with him. He gets emotional, but goes on. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Ne-Yo says that his falsetto needs some work. However, his tone is nice. Nicole doesn’t know if he is ready.

Next up is Rylan Clark. He says that he wants to be known for the right reasons and he says that this means the world to him. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Nicole says that is the best he has ever sounded. She says that he has a sparkle.

Last up for Nicole’s place is Jahmene Douglas. He says that he is not confident in his singing, but wants to show that he needs this. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Ne-Yo tells him that he can’t let his nervous energy eat him alive. Nicole says that she doesn’t know if he can stand the pressure. Ne-Yo helps Nicole pick her Final 3.

In St. Lucia, the Girls are ready as Tulisa and Tinie Tempah are ready for them too. First up is Jade Ellis. She says that this is so different from where she is from. She says that she wants this so bad for her daughter. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Tinie Tempah says that he likes her. Tulisa says that she likes her energy.

Next up is Amy Mottram. She says that she has always wanted to be on X Factor and says that she is just a normal girl. She says that she doesn’t want this to end. She comes out and sings. Afterward, Tulisa says that she has so much soul. However, her nerves messed her vocals a bit.

Leanne Robinson is next and she says that this is the career that she wants. She come out and performs. Tinie Tempah says that it was a little up and down. Tulisa says that she has it in her to do better.

Jade Collins comes out and next and says that she has never thought that she could get this far and says that this would be amazing if she could get through. After she sings, Tinie Tempah says that she was good, but Tulisa doesn’t think that she can do enough.

Next up is Lucy Spraggan. She says that she is there to take a risk and wants to show that she is worth it. She comes out and sings her rendition of “I Will Always Love You”. Afterward, Tinie Tempah doesn’t know about the song. Tulisa says that she has her Niche, but doesn’t know.

Ella Henderson is last up for Tulia’s place. She says that she was happy with the reaction, but feels that she has a lot to prove. She says that being in St. Lucia is a little scary. She is ready though. She sings and afterward, Tinie Tempah says that she is so good. He helps her decide which singers are going home and which to take with her to her Final 3.

The Over 28s are ready to show Gary and Cheryl that they have what it takes and Gary is confident with his group. Carolynne Poole is up first. She says that last year was her nightmare at Judge’s Houses. She says that she wants this more. She sings and afterward, Gary says that she needs a bit more confidence. Cheryl says that it is tough.

Nicola Marie is next and Gary says that she isn’t happy that he is her mentor. Nicola says that she is nervous. He tells her that he needs her to try and not to let her nerves get her. She sings and afterward, Gary says that her energy was low. Cheryl says that she would have liked to see her energy.

Brad Shackleton is up next and says that he wants to show that this is his year and that he has the talent. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Gary says that he likes his voice, but is unsure where he fits in.

Melanie Masson is up next. She says that she wants to show her voice. She says that it is crazy that she was a mother and wife and now she is there. She sings and afterward, Cheryl says that she looks different than she sounds and says that it is going to be tough to be away from her family.

Next up is Kye Sones. He says that he has been working in rubbish business and has tried to make it into music. He doesn’t want to be in the Chimney Sweep work anymore. He comes out and sings. He cracks. Afterward, Gary says that was tricky and Cheryl says that he struggled.

Last up for the night is Christopher Maloney. He says that his first audition was so nerve racking. He says that his Nan is so special to him and he says that he wants to make his Nan proud. He comes out and sings and Gary tells him to not be nervous and to just sing. Afterward, Gary says that the crowd loves him. Cheryl says that he is terrified though. Cheryl helps Gary pick his Final 3. That is it for the performances!
