LIVE Performance Show #7 - Top 4 Perform - Recap

The Semi Final is underway and for Melanie Amaro, Marcus Canty, Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik are going to give it all they have. This week the contestants are going to be singing the “Pepsi Challenge Song” that America has chosen and emotions are running hire and hire. They talk about Rachel’s exit and Simon says that he hasn’t seen Rachel, but it is alright. Nicole says that the boos have made her stronger.

The first up is Marcus Canty. He comes out and sings “I’ll Make Love to You” by Boys to Men. Afterward, Nicole says that he is bringing sexy back and says that he is classy. Paula says that she is the entertainer of the group and gave a solid performance. Simon says that he sang it well, but the staging didn’t fit and for him it was distracting and corny. L.A. says that it takes great taste to know great taste. He says that he is a three time save-me song winner and he will stand by him.

Chris Rene is next. He comes out and sings “Fly” by Sugar Ray. Afterward, Nicole says that she loves that he makes them feel good. She says that he looks like $1 Million. Paula says that he looks like $5 Million and it was great. Simon says that it was 7/10 and that it wasn’t the best. L.A. says that he is great and that he needs to keep what he was doing. Chris says that he is going to come out and handle the next song really nice.

Next is Melanie Amaro. She comes out and sings “Hero” by Mariah Carrey. Afterward, L.A. says that was really good and says that he says that it is predictable and didn’t feel her usual passion or love. Nicole says that loved the song choice and says that it is fitting because she has grown into her own power and strength. Paula says that her voice is impeccable. She says that it was great. Simon says that wasn’t karaoke and says that Melanie’s singing was bloody fantastic.

Last up for the fist round is Josh Krajcik. He comes out and sings “Come Together” by the Beatles. Afterward, L.A. says that he enjoyed it and says that it is the best he has heard him in a couple of weeks. Paula says that he has the ability to attack their souls and says that she would pay anything to see him perform. Simon says that he has come back and says that it is an honest performance and says that it would be a massive shame if he doesn’t make the Final. Nicole says that when he is on stage, he is different and is amazing.

The next round kicks off and Marcus Canty is up first. He says that he never wanted to go against Rachel and thought that he was going home. He says that it gives him motivation. Having her mother there every week is motivational too. He says that being in the Final Four is great. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Nicole says that is an unexpected song choice and says that he loved it all. She says that he is already a champion and winner. Paula says that she loved the arrangement. Simon says that was horrific and says that it was all wrong. L.A. says that he saw something different and says that he gave a fantastic performance.

Next up is Chris Rene. He says that 7 months ago, he was being sober. This week he is playing the piano. He talks about how his dad would play the piano and says that his dad told him that he has one life and that he needs to do good things. He says that he wants to make him proud. He comes out and sings. Afterward, Nicole says that he doesn’t have the best voice, but says that his spirit transcends across the universe. Paula says that she loves him and says that his confidence is awe inspiring. Simon says that he delivered big time and says that his father would be extremely proud. L.A. says that he is proud of him and says that stardom is about loveability and all they need is the votes.

Melanie Amaro is next. She says that she feels that she is truly blessed. She says that she wants to thank her family and give them the financial freedom and she gets a tweet from Mariah Carrey. She is going to change it around and stand out. She comes out and sings. Afterward, L.A. says she is the greatest female to grace the stage. He says that he killed it. Nicole says that she should be feeling good and says that is her anthem. Paula says that she loved it and says that it feels good. Simon says that this is why they’re in America and says that this was the greatest performance. Simon pleads for votes.

Last up for the night is Josh Krajcik. He says that it feels great and is closer to achieving his dream. He says that he was struggling and felt like a failure. Winning the competition would be a thank you to his brother for allowing him to live with him when he was struggling. He is singing a ballad. He comes out and sings. Afterward, L.A. says that he is a huge fan, but that song wasn’t great for him. Paula says that Josh opens up his heart and says that he is the one to beat. Simon says that this was great and says that it was sincere and says that put him into the Final. Nicole says that he is a gift to all of them. That is it for the performers. Now it is up to America who gets through to the Final!
