Tightrope (US)

Mike Connors starred in this series that aired for 37 episodes on CBS during the 1959-60 season. Connors played Nick Stone, an undercover agent who was assigned to infiltrate organized crime. The catch was that many of the police units whom Stone aided didn't know he was an undercover man thus causing him to dodge bullets from both sides of the law. The show, like The Untouchables which premiered the same year, drew heat for its violent content and was canceled by the network after only one year on the air.
