Episode Quotes

Tyler: (freaked) How do you know Will is alive, Jay?! There's blood in that van!
Porter: If they'd wanted to kill Traveler, they'd have done it at the train station.
Tyler: (deadpan) That's comforting. Thank you.

(Will is being grilled about Jay and Tyler)
Will: They're nobody. These guys couldn't buy a clue.
Kate: And yet they seem strangely adept at life on the run. Are they exceptionally lucky, or is someone helping them?

Episode References

Tyler: You think he was really a Cubs fan?

Tyler is referring back to the first day the three met, where each discovered that the others were fans of the Chicago Cubs. This was referenced in flashback during the pilot episode.

Analysis

Tyler: Gotta hand it to the guy, being such a cold-hearted son of a bitch from day one...

Though Will has proven to be a man of many deceptions and secrets, it seems that there was at least one aspect he allowed to be shared with Jay and Tyler: he did like them. Or at least, he liked them enough to not murder them in cold blood. One of the larger questions about Will's actions is whether or not he was saving the boys out of genuine friendship, or if he was setting the two loose in a move to bring down his organization. Perhaps Will knew that the two would be able to survive and follow a trail...or, he could have been just as clueless as he claimed to be, and Jay and Tyler are smarter than either he or his organization thinks...
