at time 51:20 in episode 2 you get a good look (close-up) at the painting in the bar managers office... its a wolf/dog standing over a blond female child - protecting her?

and that mysterious dog shows up at odd times to see sooke ...

werewolves have been mentioned a couple of times and although the show is taking liberties with what we have come to believe about vampires, i believe that dracula was originally both a vampire and a werewolf so it's not out of the realm of possibility that the bar manager could be a werewolf... or someone else

any thoughts?

Hm... he might become one? This way he is powerful enough to 'counter' Bill. Nice theory though. I hope what your thinking is true.

I agree, that is an interesting theory but I'm not sure I even care. I've watched 3 episodes and still don't care much for any of the characters.

ok... for those who have not watched episode 3 i won't mention how but we learn that barman Sam BARKS in his sleep!

and he has an unusually hard time confiding in a woman so he can have a girlfriend... is that how everyone else understood that bit of character development? so that probably means Sam has a big secret

at the end of the ep though Sam and the dog played catch together, so the wild idea that Sam changed into THAT dog is not correct, I'm not sure that's where i was heading exactly but i still believe Sam has some kind of canine connection

Sam calls the dog "my brother" (probably nothing haha) and then wishes out loud for Buffy or Blade to come to town and get rid of Vampire Bill

interesting.....

im sure he does. but i think he's talking about the kommon known myths. mainly the relegion and garlic myths.

most vampire authors forgo those myths. theres nothing mythical about garlic! it and any other leek roots just stink, and with their hieghtened senses, of course theyd shy away.

the religion one, it's a matter of beleifs. in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files... they got "Black Court" vampires, which is the dracula-esque rotton corpse. any religious artifact, so long as the mortal BELEIVED in it, they cn instil power in the artifact to burn the vampire.

I was just trying to be amusing....I failed

I think every vampire book, film or series adds a little or takes a little from the vampire myth & they're entitled to.
