Ay Chihuahua! this show is sooooooo gonna be canceled.
Beside the evident fact that this serie is totaly based on The Devil Wears Prada, and the 1 Billions lawsuit that will follow from Herbalife (..Herbalux..far to close to home...), this ethnic serie is going to be one of the biggest flop of this year.
No producer in his right mind could include the term "Ugly" in his tilte. That's an open provocation to all the feminist groups all over the world, gays, and ...Mexicans.
Despite of all that, this is a fun serie to watch (not to follow), if you are the kind of ppl who has an habit, like me, to make fun of other ppl.

It got 16.1 million for its debut episode, making it the most popular debuting show in America. So I highly doubt it will be cancelled any time soon.

Tonight's show (10/05/06) was a little better but still predictable. It's gonna get old pretty fast if it doesn't change. |

Im not defending the show but the facts are this show is a remake of an old Hispanic telenovela called "Yo soy, Betty la Fea" (translates: I am ugly Betty) not a rip of the Devil Wears Prada. (even if both the novel and the show came out on the same year 2003. the )
"Betty la Fea" was and is one of the all time well known Spanish telneovelas of all times, shown all around the world. I personally cant stand any tele novela personally. and I don't see whats so great about the original.
I haven't seen this version of the show yet, but what i can see is that their trying to copy the success of the original. |

Still not a great show, but maybe getting better. Somewhat predictable though. I'll keep watching ...for awhile. |

I highly doubt it will be cancelled. It's had great reviews and millions of viewers each time. It looks nowhere near cancellation.

BTW, this is based on the Hispanic version of the show called La Fea something Betty, and that's a big hit down there. |
