Earth is visited by an Alien race. At first they seem quite friendly, and they look just like regular people. Some people suspect there must be something behind all the kindness they offer. One thing leads to another, and it is soon discovered these friendly folk from outer space are really hideous lizards who want eat us all!

The entertaining story is filled with messages about the need to be skeptical of authority. The special effects were groundbreaking at the time, and this series started a number of people’s careers.

News of the imminent arrival of the Visitor’s “Leader” causes peace to break out all over. For fun, Phillip and Mike duel with nuclear powered swords, but Diana gets Lt. James to turn the swords on. Elizabeth develops “racial memory”, suddenly remembering the history of the Lizards. The Leader never shows his face, instead speaking directly to and through Elizabeth. At the end, he appears only as red light. Elizabeth returns to the Home Planet with him, and Kyle stows away.
