VH1's Storytellers: Ray Davies

In the first Storytellers ever recorded, the charming, funny and Kinky Ray Davies ruminates on his days as an overworked, underpaid musician, the nights when his dad would come home from the pub and start a dance party, and "that strange country called Los Angeles." Grinning like a schoolboy as his stories get lengthier, Davies displays the wit that made him one of rock's great character writers. Aided by a lone accompanist, he gives each fave its due: "Lola," "Celluloid Heroes," "You Really Got Me," "Waterloo Sunset" have never sounded so warm.
