Lianne Mars [S01-S02 Recurring], played by Corinne Bohrer
Once Keith lost his position as Sheriff of Neptune, Lianne suddenly walked out on both him and their daughter Veronica. While Veronica originally believed that Lianne left because she couldn't face the family's sudden reversal of fortune, it became known that A) someone wanted Lianne out of the Mars's lives and B) that Lianne had her own demons (namely, alcoholism).
Through her investigative work, Veronica learned that at one time Lianne and Jake Kane, a suspect in his daughter Lilly's murder and the father of Veronica's friend Duncan, were quite the item. It was briefly believed that Veronica herself may have been a product of this, but through DNA testing was later proven false.
Lianne attempted to return to her family, but was tossed out by Veronica after she discovered her mother had blown the chance at rehab Veronica paid for with her college money. She has not been heard from since., |
