When it becomes obvious that someone is trying to distract Valedictorian hopeful Sabrina, from being able to achieve this honor by distracting her from her studies and wrecking her grades, Veronica sets out to investigate who the culprit could be. Keith receives a business proposition from an unlikely source and in the ongoing investigation into Lilly’s murder Veronica tried to discredit Abel Koontz’s confession. Things become awkward for Veronica and the few classmates she has as friends when Logan discovers the file that she is keeping on everyone that has anything to do with Lilly’s murder.

Cultural References

The episode title makes a pun on Cain and Abel, the sons of Adam and Eve. Cain, a farmer, killed his brother Abel, a shephard, because God "accepted" Abel's sacrifice of a lamb instead of Cain's offering of fruits and vegetables. according to Genesis,

In this instance, the Kanes (a powerful family) have made a sacrifice of Abel Koontz (a meek person, like a lamb) in order to appease a higher authority (the law, in this case).
