Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light (0 Fans)
 |
"Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light" Summary |
| |
|
"Far away in a distant galaxy, the people of the planet Prysmos lived in an age of great technology. They had taken control of all of the sources of energy, and enjoyed a life of comfort and ease for 7,000 years... but this was not to last, for the realignment of the three blazing suns of Prysmos signalled the end of the age of science and technology. When all of the electrical energy have been depleted from the world, an age of magic began. But it would take some time before man would believe this. Years passed, and as the old order collapsed a new more primitive order rose form the rubble. Knowing that the balance of power between Darkstorm and Leoric could easily be tipped, both frantically searched for a military advantage."
Prysmos is now inhabited by wizards and magical creatures. The great wizard Merklynn grants amazing powers to 14 Knights. The group is divided between the good Spectral Knights, led by Leoric, and the evil Darkling Lords, led by Darkstorm. Throughout the show they battle for supremacy.
Visionaries, Knights of the Magical Light was originally an action figures toy line released by Hasbro Inc in 1986. Following the toy line came the comics and this animated TV show. Visionaries has some of the best animation ever seen, even better than some animated shows today. And it wasn't exclusively for a young audience; it also had an appeal to older groups. The show was cancelled due to the unprofitable toy line, so only 13 episodes were produced, leaving the fans craving for more.
"It is a time when magic is more powerful than science and only those who control the magic control destiny. They are the Visionaries."
